Updated on 2010-01-07 20:15Our own IRC channel
Our chat page returns!
Following a request by seinfeld, who offered to host the IRC channel and be in charge, you can now join the live talk.
This is ideal if you're considering to set up an online FM game or just ask a quick question to the fans being online at that moment.
What is IRC and how to use it?
IRC is a chat program that you can use to talk to hundreds of users at
the same time.
In order to use it you must download and install a free IRC client for your operating system, or just use the online client (with limited functionality though).
In case you wish to download and install a client...
For Windows do the following:
1. Go to http://www.mirc.com and download mIRC.
2. Install and open the program
3. Go to Tools > Options in the top menu bar in mIRC
4. In the Connect section fill in whatever you want in Full Name and
Email Address (they don't have to be real), then fill in Nickname,
which is the name other people will see publically when you chat. This
is limited to 10 characters.
5. Type "/server irc.textella.com", without quotes, in the text field
of the Status window that is sitting on the right of the client area.
6. When you are connected you should type /join #fmscout to join our
channel and then you are able to type in text and read what others are
saying.
7. All done! Now I recommend reading some more guides on the link
above and learn your client.
In case you wish to use the online client...
And be a little patient while it's loading (could take a while, but will usually load in a few seconds)
Just click here!
