FM Scout v3 is the popular savegame compatible scout utility for FM 2006.

Updated: 1 Oct 2006 - v3.30b5
Released: 17 April 2006 - v3.21

This is the latest version (beta) of FM Scout released by Michael Nygreen.
It should work great with FM2006.
Enjoy!

I totally forgot there was a Mac version of the patch available back then, which I have found a link for just now after you reported your latest problem. So grab this file instead, it should successfully update your game to v6.0.3 - Let me know!

Hey again,
when I run the patch- through Wine and Winebottler- it says cannot find the FM 2006 application file- 'fm.exe', and I have to browse for it manually. When I find the app, it doesn't recognise it, and so I cannot use it- i suspect this is because it is specifically looking for a .exe file, although I'm no expert.
what I have I done wrong?

That might be it, I'm running v6.0.1, so I'll try that.
Thanks for your help!

I'm not really sure, but v3.30b5 was the last available version and it should work. Perhaps you might need an updated FM2006 version (by installing a patch from back then); this one for example.

yep haha, old school is the way forwards
okay so I've done this and its installed and everything, but when I try to open my save file in it ('liverpool.fm') it says 'The file doesn't seem to be a valid FM saved game'.
can you help please?

You're really still playing FM2006? Wow... well, it's not Mac compatible but you can always try this guide and hope for it to work.
