i have downloaded, not a problem but when i try to load my game i'm getting an error. i have unticked the compress save file, i have used genie since 2008.

You need to un-tick "Compress Save Games" in Preferences page and hit Confirm. After that, save your game again. Then load it up in Genie.

If error persists, please take the following actions:
* Upload your save game with the problem somewhere (FileFront, RapidShare, etc)
* Make a post on this forum section, explaining your problem and giving a link to your save game

I saved one of my earlier games uncompressed and the scout worked fine, so I'm guessing it's something with that save game, something that hasn't been seen yet.

I cant seem to load a saved games. Im using windows 7 ultimate 64 and half way during loading fm genie scout freezes, when I click the fm genie scout window it says "not responding". Will this be fixed in the new version. Pls. I want this so much! Thanks

- While you are in FM, go to Preferences.

- Un-tick "Compress Save Games" and hit Confirm.

- Save your game AGAIN.

- Try to load your fresh save game on FM Genie Scout 10!

Hello...

I have tried all of the above to get the FM Genie Scout 10 working, but still no luck.
I have made sure the data is not compressed
i originally had Fm installed via steam and have now done the install the other way and can still not use it.

I've used this to open savegames on the Steam version, so I wouldn't say it's "not Steam compatible" I have an issue with one of my later savegames not opening, but it doesn't seem to be related to being the Steam version. Try saving a brand new game and see if you can open it.

Excellent. Works with all my savegames now. Btw, I use Steam, there was some question if it worked with Steam. Think it had nothing to do with Steam, my problem was the huge save files. RC2 working great, thanks much.

I'm not sure how long that session is valid, so the link may not work indefinitely. But basically, if you're clicking on the link above (http://www.fmscout.com/i-757-FM-Genie-Scout-10/a-dl.html) you should see a big orange button that says "Download Now" and should not take you to a torrent.

I love FMScout but havng problems installing the new version (RC 2) when I click to downlaod it it will only let me download it as a .rar file so when I go into my comp says I dont have a prog to extract it.

Why don't you guys go pick up FMRTE and use it in the meantime. The search features in FMRTE are in no way as nice as the genie scout format, and there's no genie report, but it'll get you through the holidays and let Eugene enjoy his christmas. It's fully 10.2 compatible, and a new version was released today.

Just a stupid question : Wich sort of attributes are you looking to know if a player is a good one or not?? The "CA" ; "PA" or "best rating" ; "potential rating" ???Or twice??

"is" = best rating / "will be" potential rating
The ability is just an indication, not a proof. You may find players with limited ability that can be better than others with high ability. It's also very important to check the player attributes for consistency and important matches.

the way they are working is pretty annoying.

I mean when I check a player a window opens with your sponsors. If it would happen only one time, thats ok, but it's happening every time I check a player's attributes and opens a lot of windows in my browser.

I'm no genious at this but i spent the last 2 hours trying to download this, can someone point out what RC1, RC2 and the V1 differences are, i tried downloading 2...assuming it was the most up to date with the 2nd patch...didn't work, i kept getting an error, so tried RC1, same thing, tried downloading the V1..and it never worked...so i deleted it yet again and tried the top link again and it's working fine.

I run the game through steam, so it is compatible, it does take it's time loading results but that's just my save game since i've seleced more than 40 leagues in 12 different nations ;)...as for the adds it's not been a big problem yet.

I have a lot of respect for the creator of this, it sounds crap giving thanks when i should be donating, but i will eventually ;).

anyway, it's pretty much accurate for me, but is not the only thing that matters for a good player. consistency, important matches, injury proneness, natural position, adaptability to team's tactics and happiness level are some of the aspects you should pay attention to.

if you want to cross-check for players that you could sign, export the shortlist from genie -> import shortlist in fm and use custom filter "ask assistant to filter out unrealistic targets".

Yes- same error here too. Seems that rather than a few people having an issue, it's got a bit of buggy code.

Tried running some older savegames with patch 1&2 and they seem to be working fine with the latest geniescout. Have not tampered with the gamedata by using the real time editor or anything else but patch 3 versions will just not run with the new geniescout.

Hope it can all be sorted soon. Appreciate it!

dl'ed v1.11 and still wont work, get errro that fmscout is not responding, then fmscout encountered an error and needs to close. running fm2010 10.3 no updates prior to that am 3/4 way through 1st season, laptop is running vista and is fully updated.

Im using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
When i dubbleclick on FMGenieScout.exe i get only the loading ring and nothing happens.

Tried to check the adminitrator box, and tried to start it in all the different windows types in the compatibility menu. Still nothing.

No update available mate; the last email I received from Eugene was saying that he hasn't solved the freeze/crash problems and doesn't know what's wrong with that. Apparently, he didn't abandon the work for a next version, but no one knows if and when there will be that next version.

have kind of given up playing FM now as its really hard to find good young players to join my non league team.. have been playing starters orders 4 instead!

Works like a charm, no bugs/errors/failures with the 10.3 patch. Clean install of fm, clean update to 10.3 and unrar on desktop, can load my uncompressed savegames and search at free will in genie, thanks! finally i can play!

To fix the current genie problem.

If you update FlashUtil9e.exe at

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\

Double click it, install.

Run Genie scout as normal.

This should work. Work for me.
