I had the same problem with FM running slower for each season but in my case the problem were that I had saved alot of news as Notes... as soon as they were deleted the game was back in full speed... cannot explain why but it helped me...
how do i delete notes?
On your start screen (in the game) there´s a menu called ´notebook´
There you will find all the news you have chosen to: "save as note" during your game... I had like 100 or so and I just had to mark each one and then click delete... it took awhile but as I said it really helped me and my game was back in full speed...
