RapidShare Policy
Updated on 2009-12-20 11:04Why are we using RapidShare as the primary mirror for downloads?
As you might already know, FMScout.com has entered the Hall of Fame of world's most popular FM sites; being one of the most favourite fansite around.
This means more traffic, more server load, more running costs. Why do we care? Because we're paying for it and we want to keep this going.
OK, how is this gonna work out?
Our major income is advertising. After the switch to a cheaper server, we are able to cover our current running costs.
But, we'd like some extra income to ensure that the growing running costs of the site won't be a problem, and we'll be comfortable enough for further scale up.
Recently we introduced some betting ads, as an extra source of income. However, this is just a minor help and it's yet uncertain whether we're keeping them or not.
What is the real strength of this site?
Downloads of course. People love whatever involves downloading free stuff on their computers. Genie Scout is our most popular downloadable as you can guess, but there are several other files with remarkable hits.
How can we use this strength to add an extra income source?
Well, it seems that if we turn our primary download mirror to be on RapidShare, we can get credits for all those downloads. Either free or premium credits, they are all important to us. This is our honest explanation to why we're slowly switching our primary download mirror to RapidShare.
We'll try to list more download mirrors available for every file, to ensure that people who don't like using RS we'll have more options, and thus try to keep everyone happy.
The benefits of becoming a premium member on RapidShare:
# No waiting time before downloading
# Maximum download speeds
# Up- and download up to 2GB sized files
* Unlimited personal webspace
* Unlimited maximum storage time of your files
* Unlimited number of maximum parallel downloads
* Privileged care on network congestions
* Support of download accelerators
* Resume aborted downloads
Thanks for understanding.
