getting rid of current icons and legends

can anyone help me in getting rid of club icons and legends from the information tab?
I tried using the editor to remove players from the favored personnel list and the legend list. this seems to remove the players who are currently in the game, but the players that r no longer in the database (ie. retired and the player cannot be searched from fm) seems to stay in the list of icons and legends.
I want to be the only legend of the club after playing many seasons and I dont want to have to compete with other legends when the time comes to name a new stadium.
