Hello!

I'm Gurdit, from India. A football fan, but as a student of MBA, I don't get enough time to watch the matches I want to. I'm kind of new to the site (have been downloading Genie Scout and other things for FM 2010 for the last few months), and just recently registered because without Genie Scout, I need some other motivation to play FM 2011, which to me still feels a little buggy and unpolished despite having installed Patch 11.2.

I'm still a beginner to football management and tactics, but by participating in these forums, I'm hoping to understand it a little better and get better with the game, which can sometimes be daunting because of the sheer number of options and depth it offers.

I'm a fairly good writer, so I'm thinking of starting a Manager Story. It will be my first time, so I don't know how it'll go. I've got a few ideas, but I think I'm going to start my first story in a fairly conventional style. What do you think is the best way to go? Should I post an update for every in-game week, or every in-game month?

Welcome to our community Gurdit! Feel free to express your ideas here! It's our pleasure to host your FM story as well and test your reflexes as a coach.
If you want my advice i would tell you to take a quick look at the stories and make it different from others! That will attract readers i think..
Your updates will be depended on the hours you spend playing and ofc your free time. :)

For any help, just ask anytime!

Welcome to the site Gurdit! I'd love to make an FM story myself but i just get annoyed when im on a big losing streak and give up hahaha. I think you should do it in weeks. And put in a big news of the month feature at the end of the month along with a monthly summary :)

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. :)

I've just had an idea...I'm thinking of making it like a diary. That way, I can cover almost all important events in short paragraphs as diary entries and then post regular long features or "News of the month" or "Extracts from the Newspaper" or something. :)

I hope you enjoy your time here and learn more about the game and football.
There are many ideas to improve the site further and I'm sure you will like being around as they happen.

Mark: by the time I visit you, you'll be like ancient =P
Stam: if things go well, I'll still be the same old crazy Stam
Mark: as in crazy inventive energetic or as in crazy senile and forgetful?
Stam: wtf mate, are you planning to visit me when you'll be 70? lol

There is a lot of love for football here in India. Unfortunately, the game of cricket is very big here, and it dwarfs all other sports. Some cricketers are treated on par with big celebrities like actors, etc.

Some parts of India (states like West Bengal and Kerala) are very passionate. We have an Indian League, but generally, the quality of the players is not as high as other places. Indian football is in a nascent stage and desperately needs infrastructure and financial support.

As far as following international football is concerned, India is huge! I guess Manchester United is the most loved team here, but there are also a lot of followers of Liverpool and Arsenal. Since the population of India is very high, even though a portion of this population follows football, in terms of numbers, it's very high.
