Wanted: Promising GK for NPower League1 side

Follow Topic

  • hi guys/girls!

im new to this board, although been playing CM/FM since 1996 :)

Im looking for a possible GK prospect for my Sheff Wednesday side, currently in NPower League1, first season.
Currently the top choice keeper is Nicky Weaver, but he's 31, and not very reliable, especially considering my hopes to promote to the Championship. Despite having two quality CenterBacks (Beevers and Michael Collison), we let almost a goal per game.

Im looking for someone who can be a future replacement, with a view to promotion to Championship and hopefully Premiership in the next couple of seasons.

Tried to scout Alex Smithies, Scott Loach and Joe Lewis - none is interested!
    Any other recommendations, please??

p.s. Sorry for my English, its just my 3rd Language

  • Have a look at Roy Carroll i signed him for free in my second season with Luton. And he has let in less than 20 goals so far this season and im in february. So i would recommend him. Let me know how it goes.

  • He not the youngest of goalkeepers but i think he can still do it, but you may only get him for a couple of seasons but it will give you chance to look at younger options while you play him.

  • Jack Butland from Birmingham City he is young(17) and he is a good back up keeper

    Try John Ruddy from Norwich

Your heart is free, have the courage to follow it.

  • jake kean of blackburn, a good prospect at the age of 17

  • Jake Kean of Blackburn and Jack Butland of Birmingham are future England internationals in my Football Manager Handheld... That's Handheld though.

  • Alex Smithies the best goalkeeper I ever had. Paid 1.1 million Aus dollars when I manage Numancia and 1 year later, he is unstoppable and Chelsea and Man United wanted him! Strange, he hasn;t played for England yet. In the original version, Adriano Basso is good for npower championship.
