FM Scout 2011-12 in development
Announcing the most exciting site version yet
I'm very excited to announce that I have started working on the next fmscout.com arrangement.
It's a kind of a tradition by now; every year I'm redesigning the site usually to reflect changes on FM interface.
The site first appeared back in January 2005 but it wasn't until late 2007 when I dedicated time here with the sole reason to make it a better place for FM enthusiasts.
We had a successful last season (2010-11) in terms of traffic and crowd reaction, and this fueled my motivation to work even harder for the next version.
What should you expect?
This time the interface won't be based on FM at all, I have already designed most parts of the new version and I can assure you it's great from every aspect; it's simple, it's fast, it's powerful, it's highly usable. In a way it feels like the current version is a teenager and will grow into an adult (new version)... I believe the change is that important!
Everything should make more sense, as in properly organized and easy to find the stuff you really want. The main focus is on user experience, and you have increased usability as a result. This should include noticeable handy new features for members that have been dearly missing.
Apart from improvements and corrections to plenty of mistakes I've done on the current version (both technical and logical... yep, I admit my mistakes), there are some new ideas I believe you're going to enjoy and use. I can't reveal more about that at the moment.
When to expect the change?
I believe the new site will go live at the end of July, maybe during the first week of August. There will be plenty of time until the release of FM2012 to tweak and finetune everything, listening to your feedback of course.
I will be adding new posts on this topic to reveal some of the improvements and the new features until the actual release. Some screenshots should be attached to showcase the new stuff in pictures.
Stay tuned for updates by watching this space, or make sure you follow us on twitter and facebook. Subscribing to our newsletter would be a good idea as well.
Enjoy your summertime

redalart:Thanks mate, I appreciate the kind words.
Great work on the site stam. Totally love it and can't wait to see it getting better. :)
paul1576:This time it should get worse, haha. I expect to actively engage with development until September and then take it easier with tweaking around and general management till FM12 release day. After that I'd have to pick up the pace again by adding downloads, contributing articles and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Great that you are going to do this and i look forward to the new version - BUT don't bloody kill yourself doing it like last time!!!
I do expect a hell of a season overall, but I'm actually looking forward to every part of it.
Will be looking foward to seeing the changes made.
Also from myself and on behalf of every other member who uses this site - THANKS for the work your putting in all the time, as we all know it's your choice wether to keep this site upto scratch etc, but u never seem to let people down who come on here so once again cheers.
In case you didn't know, I was kind of absent from everything for the past month due to personal issues. I'm back now and ready to continue my work here. I know I'm late and all, but better late than never I guess.
I'll try to keep you updated on the daily progress through this thread.
So far I've added the complete set of FM12 hints and tips as they appear in-game, as well as a list of the most notable free agents in the FM12 Demo (that should be constantly updated).
Current theme changes:
Links on homepage and on articles have been updated to reflect the FM12 additions.
Main navigation has changed to be more like the one we'll be getting when new theme is launched.
Planned for today:
Our shop's mainpage, that will naturally lead you to our product pages.
Rearrange forum sections and categories.
Introduce FM Scout Alliance page.
