it probably depends on you're FA. in romania all games are televised by one network and day one had the first game on thursday and the last one on tuesday next week.

Steve Bloomer's watching
Helping the fight, guiding our heroes in the Black and the White
All teams that come here
There's nowhere to hide
Everybody's frightened of the Derby Pride!

The biggest problem in this country is that no free-to-air channel can afford the multi-billion£ contract with the premier league that is why it has to be on sky (which is a rip off because you basically pay to watch every Man U game because that is what their world-wide audience want) But even the highlight shows are ruined. BBC have there late kick-off on a monday night to show the teams from the football local area, I live in stevenage but they are not in my local area according to this show so I dont get to see them on it.

A few years ago SKY Italia bought the rights to serie A so it was taken off normal TV, the way the fans got it back was that noone subscribed to sky so the next year it went back to normal TV

Most weekends the BBC has highly competetive Championship football which is also great to watch whenever its on. Aside from that, on terrestrial television in the UK you may as well stick to Match of the Day and The Football League Show on Saturday nights.

To be fair, you can see any premier league game online so easily now, although yes watching in good quality helps, the BBC won't spend tax payers money on getting a huge contract away from sky. Because the premier league is so lucrative.
I have sky anyway, but not ESPN :( :P

Oh how I hate to pay to watch sports games.. How much does sky cost a month in England anyway?
Here in The Netherlands you pay I think €15 a month but that's only for Eredivisie matches.. If you want to watch CL or EL they are on another paid channel for €20 per month.. Though the big CL/EL matches are usually aired by non-paid channels.

In Belgium it is even worse, so I heard, where the Belgian Pro League matches are split between two cable-companies (not channels!)- one broadcasts the 3 biggest matches and the other channel the others. So to watch all the matches of your club, you will have to pay for 2 decoders for your TV and after that, also pay for the channels. This adds up to €75 (SEVENTYFIVE EURO) per month (!!!).

If I have to pay to watch a match on tv i would be as well actually going to see the match. I can not afford to spend the money on TV.
