It relates to the "skin cache" file called fm2012.skc.

You can delete the preferences and cache from the library folder, Steam does write to these foldesr. However they are hidden if you are using OSX Lion - you have to make it show by opening the terminal and typing the following

chflags nohidden ~/Library/

This will allow you to see your library and delete the caches. However the simple way around is to disable the "use skin cache" tick box in the preferences panel - this has completely resolved the problem.

Load FM12, go to Preferences screen, then Display & Sound tab. You'll find 'use skin cache' option there. Untick and hit the confirm button.

Last night I tried using the FM editor and it said that it couldn't find the data file and all the other little things inside it. I downloaded and installed the update and used the editor without any problems. Now I tried to get back into it and it comes up with a new error.

I've followed the above help, and it hasn't improved the situation. Any more advice?

Disable Skin Cache in the FM12 preferences and delete the file fm2012.skc.

You have to delete the file everytime you restart.

I've disabled the skin, but I don't have the file to delete. =/
