Getting really frustrated

Hi all,

First of all let me say the game is very good but I do have some greivances.

I'm Luton and its about my 8th or 9th season now. last season I finished 6th in the premiership playing great football both home and away and my strikers scored about 60 between them, great stuff.

This season totally different. I spend 10 million on a Central Defender who my scout says is quality and has much better stats than my other defenders and also spend 6 million on an attacking midfielder who has brilliant stats and is 7 gold stars best in my whole team. I now find myself in a relegation fight??? The opposition always score amazing goals from outside the area and whatever I do attacking never seems to come to anything and I end up losing 4-1 at home to mid table teams I was destroying last season.

Not only that but it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to beat the big teams, I can be one or two nil up at home to one of the top 4 with 10 mins to go and they always without fail either equalise or take the lead in the last ten mins. How can I go from 6th to relegation in just one season when I have improved my squad it's stupid and doesnt make sense at all. I hope it's not just me but I for one am losing my patience with the game, it's almost like it knows what it will do before the game starts i.e. it's going to make you lose and you have no say in it

first of all at times it takes time for your players to settle in.

thing is though when you get new players you have to change some tactics, mostly the 'personal instructions'.

with better defender you might want to try out some other tactic at the back, if both of ur defenders have good positioning then u might try to play offside.

i mean you have played so many seasons, and you have to keep 'experimenting'. its not easy with these tactics, you have to have to change some instructions here and there to see how ur players play etc.

i know that ur slightly frustrated and all. but just try different things and all.

i could help u. but i learnt everything by myself, and thats how you become the best. and thats how youre gonna become the best.

if your not favourites say things like we can win this or if you are one nil down show encouragement also if your players are having a 6 or so tell them your angry and tell them to turn it around like red said its all about the tactic's

Well, as Red said new players need time to settle in, especially if your scout said that when he was scouting him... And maybe he needs different personal instructions, try changing you tactic a little bit...

And also it happens to me that opponents get better and better against your team as years pass by...

But my best advice is to listen to Red... He know just about everything...Don't know how??:con:con:con

like on my game last year leeds where flying taking points from anyone in the championship lost the playoff final and now there in relegation threat PS: whats your season exceptations

a similar thing happend to me with sheffield wednesday, 2nd season in i came 10th, fa cup runner-up and got into europe not bad. i used the scout and so all my players should've improved the season after as they were all 18-25. next season got relegated, knocked out of both cups in the first round although i did get past the group stages in the uefa cup to play roma, who i beat 3-2 at home.

5th season back in the premiership 10th half way through the season which i'm happy with, i just hope it doesn't happen again next season

im a football freak =D. i watch a lot of football. and by a lot i mean loads!!! and i have played alot of FM as well. i dont do much else than football =D

Thanks for the tips guys, I will play around with the personal instructions and stuff.

Agreed it does happen in real life i.e. to Bolton but don't forget they lost a good manager so that might explain it!

Guess it's just annoying having done so well the previous season and think I have finally got the hang of the game only to be shot right back down without changing too much. Wierd thing is I play really well in Europe and although im in a relegation fight 3 quarters of the way through the season I am unstoppable in the UEFA cup which again confuses me.

Only football? You know that there is more to life than football, right?:p=D

Well the thing is that you also play football and it helps, the thing why this game is so great is that it's a lot like real life football, so you need to know a lot about football to be good at this game...

I love football but I'm not really a football maniac, i can't sit in one place for more that two hours, i do a lot of different things, i love music and art for example...

So we, "normal" people must ask you for help sometimes... :):)

hahaha :), i dont just sit and play fm all the time. i just dont have anything else that really interests me.

of course there are girls and going out with friends. but nothing else. i dont play FM everyday. i would say around 5 hours per week at the moment, when i dont have much to do at all then i will play fm for a bit more probably. i also at times play pro evolution and fifa :p

but for me playing football>watching football>football games.

i cant sit infront of the computer for too long either, at the most 4 hours when im physically tired after playing hours of football or something. and of course i cant play 4 hours in a row, i usually watch a film and forget that im sitting infront of the comp :p

anything else you would like to know about my life? :p

Paint and draw, and i can say that i'm pretty good at it... My art teacher says that i should go to art university, but i think that i can't do much with it in the future, but i have three more years to think about it... I take art lessons though:)
