I would like to share my research of the best young left midfielders in FM 2008.

Abdou Razack Traore.
18 years
DL/WBL/AML
Rosenborg
$1.7M
Rosenborg fantastic winger from Ivory Coast! Look at his attributes and then at his price ($1.7M). And then at his age - 18 years!!! You will understand that Abdou Traore is totally sensational left midfielder for any team in FM 08!!!

Sergio Mota
17 years
AMLC
Sao Paolo
$4.3M
Very young! Fairly determined, technically gifted Brazilian.

John Fleck
15 years
AMLC/FC
Rangers
Free!
The most young from talented left midfielders! And the most talented from youngest ones!

Matias Fernandez
21 years
AMLC
Villareal
$8.75M
Fascinating attacking 21-year midfielder from Villareal! He has brilliant attribute values and great potential of growth into a real world star. Fernandez is the performer that recommended by many experienced football managers. Price is rather cheap for large clubs - $8.75M. Buy him if you can at the start of game!

also depends on how you want your players doesnt it. i mean having a certain tactic and these players doing well for that tactic. but for some other tactic they might not be the best.

but thats good anyways, lets some people know which players are a bit on the 'better side'.

wot about marcelo?
i know hes at madrid, but playing as tottenham costs £5.5m asks for a little less than 10k a week, young, ambitious and can play from left back upto left midfield and is an excellent crosser of the ball
dont know wot it would be like trying to sign him from a lesser known team tho
but have to say that fernandez is quality

Beats the hell out of mine here
And if we all believe in heaven,
Maybe we'll make it through one more year

Matias Almeyda. Great DM for 1-2 seasons.

Derek Boating AMC, solid player.

Timo Gebhart, AMC, potentially quite good.

At this point i cant come up with many more.

Personally prefer to use Fleck as a forward, he's a good prospect in real life even if does play for a crap team :-p.

If money is no object Silva is my favourite player on the left.

Hopefully get this name right , Dinijar Bilyaletdinov , bought him for Southampton for around £10 mill and so far seems good.

Other than that Garath Bale does pretty well for me when I need to use him in midfield.

for me downing is the best left midfielder. but thats because of my tactics as well. fits in perfectly. he has become the best player in the world a few times for me. usually makes around 20+ assist, and scores around 10 goals if and when he is the first choice at taking free kicks that is

I've never really looked at signing Downing , usually ends up at Chelsea or a spanish team in the majority of my games.

Lewis Stevenson seems pretty good for left midfield too and you can get him fairly cheap as well , won't be the greatest player in the world but he's above average.

Forgot to add Scott Arfield , I'm pretty biased towards him but he does great for my Man Utd team , again I could and probably should get someone better but I like having him there.
