    TOWNEND TAKES CHARGE OF ENGLAND

Leeds United manager Josh Townend's workload is about to double as of today. Staying in his role as Leeds boss, Townend has now taken control of the national team after Fabio Capello's retirement following the side's World Cup Final defeat against Spain at the Maracana.

There has been mounting speculation as to whether or not he will be able to handle his workload as well as if he'll include some of his own Leeds players in the side after bringing in Terry McDermott as assistant manager, who is also Townend's right-hand man at Leeds.

    AUGUST 2014

    Liverpool 3-1 Leeds

Leeds 1-0 AE Limassol (Europa League 4th qual round 1st leg)

    Leeds 1-2 Aston Villa

AE Limassol (0) 0-3 (4) Leeds (Europa League 4th qual round 2nd leg)

    Southampton 1-1 Leeds

Leeds' European journey has left them a little bit stretched in the league as they failed to win a single league game this month. Its been a disappointing start to the league campaign and the Whites find themselves in 18th on just 1 point. Leeds have qualified for the Europa League group stage which has drawn them in a difficult group with Athletic Bilbao, Besiktas JK and SK Rapid Wien. They'll have to step up their game if they want to go far in Europe and qualify again for next year.

Just read all this in one go, good story, but perhaps lacks a bit of detail.

I've deliberately lacked detail because its supposed to be in the format of a monthly summary of the fixtures. However, on consideration, maybe it would serve me well to provide details of goalscorers for each game as well as a season review. So thanks for your feedback, the stories will remain similar but with a goalscorers feature and a season review. Hope you enjoy these improvements. If you believe it can be further improved, I would welcome any suggestions with open arms- that sentiment also applies to anyone else reading this thread.

Hey, sorry I haven't posted in ages, but I've been snowed under lately with work as I am currently doing my A-Levels and my laptop broke recently and won't be back until October 24th. Will try and get some progress under my belt as soon as I get my laptop back depending on how much work I have over half-term

I would like to apologise for the lack of updates in my story up to this point. I was supposed to get my laptop back today, but due to the severe incompetence of those supposedly fixing it, that date has been delayed and will be announced as soon as possible
