If you update FlashUtil9e.exe at

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\

Double click it, install.

Run Genie scout as normal.

This should work. Work for me.)

Holy shit!

Works for me too!

Stam/Eugene take notice, let everyone know that if you run the flash updater utility it fixes the crash bug!

This worked, thanks a lot!

Also a small note, for those who run 64-bit OS, the path for the file should be C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\ and not System32.

Mark: by the time I visit you, you'll be like ancient =P
Stam: if things go well, I'll still be the same old crazy Stam
Mark: as in crazy inventive energetic or as in crazy senile and forgetful?
Stam: wtf mate, are you planning to visit me when you'll be 70? lol

I also had this problem, subsequently I tried downloading and installing the newest version of Flash Player but - wouldn't you know it - Genie Scout still doesn't work.

Just to reiterate, Genie Scout still doesn't work. Although I'm assuming from the fact this is fixable by Flash, it's an issue with the ads? Which are removed by getting a paid-for version? So in essence for a poor unfortunate few Genie Scout is essentially a not-free application? That correct? Okay.

Generally, stam (or anyone else for that matter), are we right to assume that due to the long radio silence from Eugene since the last update that he's no longer working on this? And so if it doesn't work by now, it never will? I find that to be...disappointing - it's always a shame to leave something half done, like Genie Scout is. Oh well.
