What are FM16 wonderkids?

Wonderkids are players with amazing potential ability and great or decent current ability up to the age of 20.

This list features FM16 best young players, some of them will already be FM 2016 wonderkids, other should be pretty close and there will also be the ones that should have the potential but it's not certain they will make it before they turn 21!

What does the rating (R) mean?

It's a personal recommendation system for assessing the potential development of FM 2016 wonderkids. I'm using a 1-100 scale based on English divisions.
81+ all-time elite player
78-80 great player for premiership
75-77 solid backup for premiership
72-74 top player for championship
68-71 solid backup for championship

Wonderkids Potential Ability color hint

Most players have PA of -8 which means they won't always have 150+ in your savegame. There are players with PA of -85, -9, -95 or fixed at 150+ (guaranteed wonderkid potential), and some others with PA fixed slightly below 150 who have impressive quality. There are no -10 players in Football Manager 2016. In essence, there are 4 classes of wonderkids here, color-marked for your convenience.

PA -8 : light gray white
PA -85 : light blue
PA -9, -95 or 150+ : light gold
PA < 150 : light green

I can't find all players of this list on my savegame. Why?

I loaded all players (330k+) in-game to produce this list of FM16 wonderkids. Your savegame probably has less players loaded.

Where is the downloadable shortlist to import in-game?

@wingwangwong: I believe it's a common secret by now (as it was leaked on a couple of foreign sites). And with less than 2 days to go until the editor becomes available I guess I could share this information. No, they haven't broadened the range of negative PAs, but there are intermediate ranges now.

Hey, Stam, I've been reloading saves for Man Utd and checking Genie Scout each time and I noticed that Anthony Martial's PA goes from 165-185 (so far). So is he a -9 or -10? Have they broadened the range of negative PAs I wonder...

@marin87: They both have 150+ PA, Pjaca is fixed at 151 and Coric -9. I've rated Pjaca as potentially great player for Premier League, and Coric as a future elite player. I think their ratings are great, but there are some better players in FM16. Also if you count 1 year as 1 generation, there are 6 generations on this list.

@SimichC: Thanks for your comment. Diousse seems to have -8 PA, so he can get 130-160 in every save. My rating in these cases of negative PA is to try and assess the average case as if he'd get 145. I believe 75 reflects that case, but he can be better than that in some saves (maybe 78 could be his ceiling).

@Caelis81: Seems to be lower than 140 over a few saves, so I'm guessing it must be below -8. Let's wait for the editor to be sure, but for now he can't qualify for my list.

In my initial comment reply I said this:

For now, I've marked in gold the players who seem to get at least 150 PA over several saves I tested.
It means those with fixed PA above 150 are also highlighted.
I'll update my color marks once we can access the editor. Will also add a green color for players who have a fixed PA just under 150 but they're good enough to get a mention.

Just 1 final question: If the players in gold are players with fluctuating PA of above 150, we can assume they're -9. But what about young players with a set PA? Are all the players NOT highlighted players with a set PA?

Yes, -9 equals 150-180, so if the PA fluctuates but is always above 150 it means we're looking at a -9 player. I haven't missed any -9 players, but with -8 it's different because 130-160 includes an area that shouldn't make it on my list. Thus why needing multiple saves to compare, but I'm still human and quite exhausted from this effort.

As the editor is not yet available, I can't be sure for all cases of negative PA; I can only guess comparing a few saves I created. So surely I must be missing a few players, which will be added after 13 November (when the editor arrives).

I suppose I could be wrong about Genie Scout being used for finding the negative PA values last year, but the complete list was out 28th of October (perhaps even before that, but 28/10 at the latest). I'm just curious how this list was obtained so early, since the editor wasn't available yet (which is why I just assumed it was due to Genie Scout).

But seeing as how a -9 player will always get 150+, it's safe to assume you didn't miss any of those, right?

Genie Scout doesn't give you the possibility to see negative PA value (never has), you can only see the current PA that is specific to your saved-game.

Last year the complete list with PA color hints was made available quite late actually (April-June). Before final release, my list of FM15 wonderkids was limited to 300-400 players.

Once the pre-game editor is out, I'll add color highlights for PA and update the list with players I've missed. For now, I've marked in gold the players who seem to get at least 150 PA over several saves I tested.

I don't want to replace recommendation rating with PA for 2 reasons. I consider recommendation rating more important as it reflects potential quality better. Besides, the PA range color marks will provide enough insight for that.

I know it's hard to believe, but I personally check and type all players one by one.

Hi, just 2 quick questions:

1. Why aren't the PA values listed instead of this 1-100 scale?

2. I thought Genie Scout gave you the possibility to see negative PA value? Last year the complete list of U21 players with 150+ PA/-9/-10 was made public before full release of the game by the use of Genie Scout, so why aren't these included here?
