Manchester City Sign Elleithy

Manchester City have completed their first signing under Paul Dickov, and their third of the summer, signing young Egyptian starlet Mohamed Elleithy from Al-Ahly, one of Egypt's biggest clubs, for a fee believed to be around £2m. This comes just days after the shock appointment of Dickov, and now he has made a shock signing, which many City fans will not have heard of.

However, the more knowledgeable in the world of football do know who he is, and say City have managed to get a very good price for a player with such high potential is a very good deal. Many believe that City don't really need to improve their first-team squad much, after the signings of Navas and Fernandinho, and it seems Dickov also has the same mentality, with Elleithy being just 18.

The central midfielder joins a wealth of young talent ready to break into City's starting lineup, alongside Nastasic, Rodwell, and many more. In a few years, we could be seeing the Egyptian line up next to new signing Rodwell, which could be a very formidable partnership, much like Fernandinho and Yaya Toure looks like it will be this season. Elleithy is also thought of as the future of the Egyptian midfield, and has been called the biggest talent to come through the Egyptain youth ranks in decades. Of course, this praise is very early on in his career, but some very prestigious sources have been putting these labels on him, showing that he has a bright future.

City fans have expressed their delight that Dickov has made a very good young signing in his first few days in the job, for such a small amount. However, that judgement has been made on other people's verdicts, and many City fans can't wait to see him in their kit. Elleithy has signed a five-year deal, on £925 per week, which could rise due to bonuses in his contract.
