Hi Craig and welcome :)

As your club's reputation rises, the AI will play more conservative against you. That means they'll likely try a counter or defensive approach.

However, you're already performing above expectations and your roster might not be powerful enough to grind through the Championship.

I'd try a couple of ideas if I were you:
- Look for loaning better players from EPL sides; if you're still into the winter transfer window that is.
- Go with a tried and tested formation from the past, and use as few instructions as possible. The more instructions you add to the mix, the less likely your players will be able to follow.
- Select roles your players are more comfortable with, or at least ones they have sufficient key attributes to pull through.
- Don't go defensive. Switch to counter or balanced away, and slightly attacking at home should normally have better results.
- Use players with better morale and try to raise it with every given chance. Talk to them, use players with poor morale on easy friendlies.

You need one good result to build upon. Avoid over-experimenting while on the verge of relegation; keep things simple.

I hope this helps :)
