The Man Behind The Chess Table
Queen's Park Rangers, a club with ambitions to become the best, saw contreversial manager Mark Hughes fired by the board on 16th July 2012. In a surprise turn of events, Englishman Alfred James was appointed manager of the Barclays Premier League side. Having never managed anything bigger than his bank account at RBS, Mr. James was thrown head-first in to a world which he only saw in his wildest dreams. His only football experience being watching live games in the pub and the popular gaming-series by Sports Interactive called Football Manager, this was a whole new world for Alfred James.
Despite his inexperience, Mr. James' transfers, both in and out, have been quite impressive. He sold Jamie Mackie for a huge £4M. With the money he made from selling players along with the money granted to him by the board, Mr. James made some very impressive signings, including English prodigy, Jack Butland. He also brought in midfielders Nigel Reo-Coker on a free and Wes Hoolahan for £3M. His most impressive signing, however, must be the £3.5M capture of Brazilian wonderkid, Wellington Nem. This is the stand-out transfer in the "QPR Revolution".
Mr. James has taken control of QPR for eight competitive games now, resulting in 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses, This is a descent record for a man who hasnever sat in a dug-out before. Big things are to come from Alfred James and the world of football is on the edge of their seats to witness it.
