Been a long time lurker and visitor on these pages, reading and enjoying the stories. Personally been playing since the CM days on almost every version up until FM 2012.
I skipped 13 and got 14 but just never clicked with it whatsoever. So I've stayed on 12 all these years until I recently got 18.
I've had a lot of memorable saves, especially on FM12 (a 2 decade Ajax journey being the most memorable). I'm looking forward to replicating those types of dynasty building projects on 18. However, rather than build up a team in one of the smaller leagues of Europe, I've decided to test out my skills on the newer game at one of the bigger teams.
I'll be taking charge of Atletico Madrid and trying to out-do what Simeone has done with them. The ultimate aim is to achieve a level of success that renders Real Madrid as 'the other' Madrid team. On FM12 this would've been a rather easier task. Once you had your team sorted and had supply line of regens coming in, dominance was easy. But 18 could pose a challenge...
Firstly, there's a new tactical system to get around (one of the reasons I stuck around with 12 for so long), then there's all the new features like dynamics etc. Plus, the AI is (atleast I'm led to believe) smarter in terms on team building. So matching and even overcoming Barca and Real will be quite challenging at first. But hopefully I manage and find success.
I look forward to sharing this story with all of you...
