Football Manager 2021 Tactics - Attacking 4-2-3-1 - Quicksta Gegenpress V2.0

This is my 4-2-3-1 Wide tactic for Football Manager 2021 that I have used with Dortmund.

This tactic has given me great results.

It's not a possession based tactic but allowed me to the the best defensive and offensive team in the league.

1st season we won the league, 2nd we won the league, domestic cup and champions league. Beating PSG, Liverpool, Juventus and Bayern.

The 2 MC are on support so you are not exposed in the midfield. They also interchange with each other.

When you don't have the ball the AML will mark WBL, AMR will mark WBR and the AMC will mark DMC.
This is why you lose possession but keep a good defensive record.

Do you have any strategies for dealing with excessive yellow cards caused by the "Get Stuck In" instruction? Getting several cards a match (though I have yet to have a player get red carded) and I'm wondering if you do anything to combat that or if you just accept it as the cost of playing that way.

@Bikeracer4487 - Mainly because its how i like to play. I know they blast some shots for no reason but in most cases shooting creates a deflection which creates the chance.

Out of curiosity, why shoot on sight and not work into box? Just wondering since it seems like they take a lot of low percentage shots.

Hi John,

I have not tried it on FM20 but it should work. I have not designed it to exploit a weakness in the match engine but to try and replicate what teams do in real life.

I'm currently tweaking the tactic to increase possession a little bit.
I'm also working on corners (Defense and Attacking).
I'm also working on throw ins too.
