Online clash of titans..

Well you might of heard of this, but this blog is the story of an online game, between me, Dusan, and Red.

Me - Manchester United
Dusan - Arsenal
Red - Chelsea

Red would join on later in the game due to him being busy at the start of gameplay, so after pre-season. Due to the speed we will be playing I will not be recording it game by game, and I will be doing it from my point of view. But with my budget of 53 million and a equally massive wage budget, I would / will try to keep up with both of them...

Background

Start

well I started with a review of my squad which made me ready to sell a few players including nani, and loan players thatwere currently on the fringes. In all Manchester United lacked a replacement for target man berbatov and the left wing position did not have a excellent LM, and the defense was the weakest position in depth.

So I set 3 main targets:

Cardozo - Benfica - he is a striker in his prime, and is possle to become the striker berbatov never became, I opted to unsettle the striker due to his standard and importance to benfica


David Luiz - Benfica - another benfica player whih gives more reason to unsettle the above player. I had a previous season at benfica which is a main reason behind these targets. He is a young brazilian center back who has the potential to have an excellent partnership with Evans after vidic and ferdinand.


Vukčević - Sporting C.P - he has a wealth of ability and can bring that natural Left winger ability to my squad, and like David Luiz he still has his best years in front of him


The pre-season for me began with a 3-0 win against my reserves, then I compressed the file so that red could host it the following day due to my 2 i.p's problem...

with pre-season fairly succesfull with undefeated results includig agaist sporting c.p, with the new signings impressing, and building up momentum going into the community sheild game

Transfers July



Then it came to the community shield, all players where ring rusty, as me and red collided, the opening 20 mins I managed to have a edge with 2 clear cut chance not put away, then rio ferdinand hit the bar, and I piled on the pressure, then ivanovic took a shot which kusuzack has covered, but it took a massive deflection and chelsea went 1-0 up. THe rest of the game became more even, with rooney missing a chance when the keeper was way out of his box, and both sides missed 1 clear cut chance each.It ended 1-0 to chelsea, but it meant that manchester united would not be a stepover. Red would probably like to mention that riquelme was injured, but for me van der sar was as well...


The first game of the EPL began wih me facing man city away this was a tough first match but best to be at the start of the season. It began with me and city testing both keepers, but gradualy I got the edge and piled on pressure shortly before the break, Rio my new captain scored from a Vucevic corner, I then managed to hold the game for 20 more mins, which left me top of the table.


Dusan & Red


Red's defeat gave me hope, that the undefeated can be beaten, and with dusan not online yet, I had to keep the good performances up.

Then I beat stoke at home 4-0, which was a walk in the park, keeping up pressure, going into the arsenal game

then red sold malouda, and bought young which was worrying, but dusan then informed, me of he can't play in this game, and arsene wenger retook the reigns, I also signed young greek cb from olympiakos Kyriakos Papadopoulos



I was never behind which tells you something but hey I don't mind drawing against them, but it did close the gap between me and red to 1 point, which drew importance on keeping constistent and being able to beat red

Red then struggled to overcome bolton scoring 3 in the last 1/4 of the match at home, whereas I comftable beat pompey away 1-2, this set up the first league clash of me and red, and perhaps revenge for earlyier on?


GET IN!!! It was a match that did not dissapoint, I more-or-less dominated the midfield using carick and fletcher which was intialy in place for riquelme but he started on the bench, the first goal came from carrick playing a excellent ball over terry and rooney latched onto it and smashed it past Cech, the game was still level after this but I still had the edge due to my midfield prowess, Red changed his tactics which made my threats come from wing play rather than centeral. Then in the 93rd min Riquelme lined up a free-kick just outside the box, and he hit the post, phew

Right I have decided to update this blog unfortunatly I accidently clicked on a random link, which meant that the data I had done all was wiped which pissed me off a bit. sorry but here is the fixtures that took place


Well I then had a match against bordeaux in the champions league, to be honest I had not qualified yet (unlike red who had an easier group) as I had 10 points inter had 7 and bordeaux had 4, so a win against bordeaux would mean that I would be in a strong position to win the group againsnt inter at home (the next champions league game I had), notables would be that Zieler played in goal after impressing in the reserves and he hadn't conceded a goal in 2 senior appearences.


A first half display won me all the points with bordeax managing to stabalise in the second half. rafael was man of the match with 2 assists and a great defensive display, and Zieler kept yet another clean sheet for united first team. Berbatovs scored a 1-n-1 first, then a tight and neat finish from obertan made it 0-2 o 25 mins, and a nicely placed giggs header made it 0-3 on 35 mins


5 mins in berba came striding into the pen area and score past green, despite being under pressure from upson and the other defender , green should have saved it but it gave me a foothold in the game, I was resting rooney so chances where few in the match, and with my midfield (defensive players) where injury bolted meant that david luiz achomplised well in a partnership with fletcher. After 60 mins Cardozo came on to help rooney who got on at half time, he scored a long shot with swerve to finish the hammers off, and scored from a corner to make it 0-3 and a man of the match performance, Zieler got another clean sheet after I kept confidence in the young German


after a 5th min goal by park itlooked all but wrapped up aftr I dominated the game, I brought on neville to replace rafael as he was on a yellow, neville in the 87th min made a terrible mistake and let spurs in, just as the match was on 122nd min a clearence came to VDS he tried a header to evra but failed and they scored thru an open goal


I was very annoyed at this match firstly David Luiz my stand in Dm got injured in the 8th min so I brought on Scholes to partner anderson in DM hahaha, then andy johnson scored in the 12th min hen paul scholes got injured in the 26th min so I had to bring on owen hargraves who wasn't match fit at all on because of the lack of dm players in my squad, andersons excellent ball played on vuk who equalised (28th min), then a goal of the season contender where Cardozo on the turn smashed in from 25-30 yards out, a vuk cross found cardozo before the break to extend the lead, but rooney got minor injury (I kept him on) goals from rio, ji-sung park, and another from cardozo wrapped it all up,with Kamara getting a conselation goal


A little quiet of a game considering I was weak and inter and me had nothing to play for, a motta long shot went pass kusuack to make in 0-1 but a cardozoz brilliant free kick made it 1-1

In the first 10mins a massive power shot from rooney managed to find its way past the stand in keeper Turner, it was a fairly level game after that which I did not like anderson and O'shea seemed to be weaker against fellani and rodwell which result in their attacks getting stronger and stronger. Just After half time a Fantastic Baines free-kick made it 1-1, I was worried and I went into attacking mode, then it got to the 70th min even more attacking. Then in the 80th min I decide enough was enough and I put vidic up alongside Cardozo, and Berba (sub for booked rooney), with only 2 cb's ferd, and Rafael, 3 amc's and 2 mc, in the 87ht min a long ball from anderson I think hit vidic, vidic took it down and played a wonderful ball to cardozo to make it 1-2 :D

elsewhere chelsea (red) beat arsenal, 1-2 keeping our goal difference the same despite me being a point ahead, Cardozo became top scorer in the prem, and liverpool got beat by man city, making it a two horse race for now





An early rooney goal made me confident but a koumas free-kick stopped my confidence, and stopped the title challenge poss?

A lack of chances, and last ditch defending from villa made sure that the title is not in my hands anymore


Vidic and van der sar let the team down and pretty much buried my title chances in the ground, burnley made me look like a fool they played well and I paid dearly


A change to the backline partnership of vidic and evans being swapped for luiz and brown, as well as zieler gamble in goal it paid off with the defense of man utd faultless, and a 1st half rooney hat-rick this but things back on the right track now


Two long shot goals made the burnley defeat a distant memory both the new signings too Cardozo and vuk, and even a fletcher red card, the united defense didn't break and zieler kept another cleansheet from a brilliant performance


Two goals from berba, a comeback from injury goal from park, and wo goals by old timer giggs, meant that I had to face reading at home in the next round whereas red struggled at aston villa managing a 4-4 draw away with everton away in the next round


A corker of a David luiz header meant a 4 consecutive cleansheet for zieler, and cardozo assist, a lee catermole sending off made it more relaxed from a relutanct to give up sunderland team

and after red drew away at birmigham 0-0 it made things seem better



then I embarressed myself against stoke losing 2-1 by a last min mistake by ferd I am sick of this now


goals from park, ferd, and diouf meant a swift pasage into the next round, vds despite letting 2 in against stoke made a competent job at reading

As we were using the first database red got a transfer ban for next summer he also dropped point at bolton and spurs which meant I could come back into this title race if things kept on going badly


I had portsmouth at home a potential banana slip but thanks to ji-sung park who scored 2 in 2 games kept me on the pulse for the title but rafael got sent off after parks goal so it made things harder than they should of been


an early fletcher goal in 5 mins made it 1-0 and it looked simple with torres being injured just days before our clash and out for 4 months, but dirk kut scrambled in a late goalin the first half, It was an uphill struggle and I became increasingly desperate, I had 4-2-4 then 3-2-5 with vidic leading the line then in the 92nd min a long ball from van der sar was headered on by vidic and cardozo finished it with ease to win a vital 3 points for united

It came to the grudge match between me and red


it was very hard to gain anything match and it was down to individual battles, the one battle which was the first goal became because of park and his persistance against bosingwa, despite red slagging off park before the match a rooney pass found park goal side of bosingwa who slotted it in to give me an advantage just after half time, there were many moments across the match with me seeming to dominate pushing for a second, then red's luck hit again with a swerving shot from lampard striking van der sar an anelka was quick to pounce. Then in the dieing mins of the game a valencia pass found park free in the area and he slotted it in, but it was ruled out for offside when replays showed it was onside I was so ggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrr stupid refs



REDS SECTION!!!!!!!

well I am writing on behalf of red as he cba/no time well mikel and essien are coming back from african cup of nations so they should be able to boost the amount of firepower also drogba just back. again like me red has a bunched up fixture list with me in fa cup, then juve, and other important games coming up he also go 2 players on bosman in order to survive, with him missing out on next transfer windows





red here :p, i won vs Juve in the CL 0-3. drogba back from ANC scores inside 3 mins and from there we cruise on to 0-3. with rossi ending his drought and ballack scoring a good long shot.


After a difficult game brimingham fnaly folded in the second half thanks to oscar cardozo again, but on the down side neville got injured which meant the underperforming rafael took center stage again


a tough match ensue which meant that me and red deadlocked again anelka spun from vidic and scored the pener in 26 mins after a crowded midfield/defense, ut just before the break Oscar Cardozo scored a nice finish to make it one a piece, Van Der Sar was a super keeper on this day and it was end to end stuff but the replay meant yet another fixture for red and me


This was wayy too easy despite at madrid coming into this game 19 games unbeaten aguero scoring 20 in 25 games, and them boasting a 3rd place in ligga briva, it was too easy I always had control they never threatened even after paulo Assuncao got set off just after half time it just buried the tie somewhat, but goals from the skipper rio, and anderson either side of half time meant I had an easy next leg.


An easy and comftable win rafael did shit again, but a otherwise solid defense, Cardozo scored yet another goal as did the man of the match Nani, now only 3 days til Red wish me luck




Also underneath is the rest of my fixtures for the seaason which resulted in me and my team becoming lost and perhaps the best two semi final legs you have ever seen or heard from me and red

First leg

it was 0-0 initially up till half time but red was eventualy getting more and more vunerable at the back with mistakes happening, the introduction of scholes unlocked the possibilities with a ball to cardozowho took it past terry and scored, anderson scored again 2 mins later, a long shot from cardozo on the counter from red made it 3-0 71 mins in, I decided to keep it on the counter but red hit back with two late goals from anelka, and zhirkov making the results somewhat tainted.

red again used his 4-2(dm)2 wingers and 2 cf and it worked for him this time at home and drogba scored either side of the half which hurt my chances considerably, but anderson made it a tight finish with a good goal in the 75th min which I was unable to capitalise on, and red won on away goals

The reason I bought these stars varied and I had bought half of them last year in mid season in cae you are wondering how I got 107 mill transfer funs, also rivaldo I boughthim but his contract expired straight away so red swapped him back with a youngster in order to fix a accident/bug
