Jake Humphrey: Hello and welcome to the 2014 FA Community Shield live from wembley stadium. Between the FA Cup Holders Arsenal vs Premier League Winners Manchester City. I am delighted to be joined by Arsenal legend Ian Wright and Manchester City Legend Steve McManaman. Afternoon gentleman.
Ian Wright: Afternoon.
Steve McManaman: Afternoon to the viewers at home.
Jake Humphrey: Well gentleman, we have a cracking game in prospect here, as Arsenal's new manager Paul Clement takes charge of his first proper senior game. He is up against Manuel Pellegrini who won the Premiership in his first season in charge at city. What do you think of Arsenal's chances wining today's game lads?
Ian Wright: It will be a very tough game for both sides as they have wonderful players who can score great goals, create wonderful goals and have brilliant creative and goalscorers in there team. However I would say Manchester City are great at the back compared to Arsenal, which lets Arsenal down at the back. City have good defenders at the back such as Vincent Kompany, who is a great leader at the back, reminds of a younger version of Tony Adams. To be honest I feel Arsenal still need to replace Thomas Vermaelen, whose left a hole at the back waiting to be replaced, but don't get me wrong, I feel Éder Álvarez Balanta and Calum Chambers are two great young prospects in the making for Arsenal. Who will go on to achieve great things at Arsenal under Paul Clement.
Steve McManaman: To be honest lads, I feel City will edge this game, they've got the quality in there side like Arsenal don't. Also they have leadership in Vincent Kompany. I know Paul Clement, is a great English coach, I just don't think he will cut the chase at Arsenal. It's good that hes setting an example to all young English coaches/mangers showing that they can still get top jobs but I just don't think he will be able to cope with the pressure at Arsenal.
Jake Humphrey: Lets go down to our tunnel reporter David James, hes speaking to Arsenal manager: Paul Clement.
David James: Paul, welcome back to England and what a role your taking on, how do you feel about your teams chances in today's game?
Paul Clement: It's great to be here today, as a manger, not assistant or anything like that. I feel like we can edge the game to be honest with you David, as I feel like we've got the attacking and defending quality, to edge this game 1-0 or 2-1 or 2-0. It's vital that we pick up a win today, as it will get moral and confidence up for the season and will get the lads roaring to go.
David James: What have you told your players just now?
Paul Clement: Well, I said I want a good attacking game and I want us to play good quick football which is a philosophy I've learnt back at Real Madrid. I don't want anything boring to be honest, as boring football gets you no where these days. As a fan you don't want to see 19th Century football.
David James: Finally Paul, are you in the market for anyone at the moment or have you got all the players you need for the upcoming season?
Paul Clement: Well to be honest, we're looking for a backup creative midfielder but I couldn't possibly tell you who it is. All I'll say he is known in the Premier League and desperate to win trophy's.
David James: Thank You Paul.
Paul Clement: Thank You David.
