Uwe Rösler has today bolstered his back line by announcing the signings of two new defensive players for his side.

The German manager has paid out his second-highest fee as Milan manager today, after completing the transfer of Tenerife's Jorge for a sizeable fee of £10,500,000.

That transfer takes Rösler's summer spending up to £13.5 million, after signing up Atalanta's Luigi Foti for £3 million a few weeks ago now.

Jorge has recently become a familiar figure among Spanish football fans, making exactly fifty league appearances for Tenerife in the Liga BBVA, after a loan spell at AA Gent upped the centre-backs confidence of first-team football.

He was praised by his manager at Tenerife, Raúl Agné, with the 47-year-old calling the youngster 'brave and committed to the side' - not bad Milan fans?

Shortly after this was the announcement of the arrival of recently-released Manchester City defensive-midfielder Rodney Kongolo on a free transfer.

The Congolese man signed for City for £325,000 in the summer of 2014 from Feyenoord - but never made a single appearance for the club's first-team.

Rodney is a brother to highly-rated Feyenoord centre-back Terence Kongolo. They both grew up in Feyenoord, but Man City came in for Rodney and it's safe to say it didn't work out.

Now Uwe Rösler is willing to give the 19-year-old a second chance at a top club, tying the midfielder down to a three-year deal, earning £800 per week a the Milan Arena.

Arsenal have finally completed what will be the biggest transfer deal of the season, as they sign Milan's Carlos Fierro for a humongous fee.

Interest is inevitable when you have a 22-year-old striker banging in fifty goals in a season - but £55 million? That's a whole different story.

Uwe Rösler signed the Mexican for his side for a fee of £10 million, which has now risen up to £16 million with the addons coming into play.

Now with the squad travelling over to Brazil for their preseason tour, Arsenal representatives have gone with the club, and have today signed up the young Mexican.

The striker finished off fifty goals in all competitions last season after starting 53 in the whole season - making two appearances as a substitute.

He was one of the Serie A's leading goalscorers last season as he finished 33 goals in 37 games, behind Internazionale's Mauro Icardi.

This caught the attention of European titans such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain. But it was Arsenal who snapped up the wanted man, paying a grand 55 million pounds for the Mexican to play in the Premier League.

This will pay off a heavy majority of the stadium debt for the construction of Milan's new Milan Arena.

Marcelo Báez has been loaned straight out to PSV after signing for £3.7 million from Boca - four more follow him.

Marcelo Báez is a striker who has just signed from Argentinian giants Boca Juniors for a fee of £3,700,000 (£850,000 added to pay to agent) for A.C. Milan.

Eight days later, though, the 20-year-old found himself on a flight to The Netherlands to finalise his season-long loan deal at Dutch giants PSV.

More players at the Milan Arena have copied his route by going on loan to other teams for the season. Thomas Ristori has found himself in Berkshire as he joins Reading in their first season back in the Premier League.

Andrea Petagna has found himself going out on loan yet again for his fifth loan spell in five years under contract by Milan. He joins fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona.

Daniele Rugani struggled to maintain a first-team spot in Rösler's starting eleven last season since joining from Juventus for £675,000. He joins AFC Fiorentina on loan for the season.

Finally, another striker is let out on loan as Michael Fabbro joins Sorrento in Serie C/C for his third loan spell in three years away from the Milan Arena.

As players come and go, preseason is the set of fixtures that settles them in. This season we organised eleven friendly matches, with the Italian Super Cup Final added onto them. Out of the eleven games, we played six of them teams from the top-flight in their country. We went on a Brazilian tour where we played Juventude, Ponte Preta and Salgueiro AC. Our toughest fixture was no doubt the one against Spanish giants Real Madrid at home. It was also the first time our new stadium - the Milan Arena was used in it's only purpose for us, hopefully we can turn it into a fortress this coming season.

NEXT MONTH: AUGUST/SEPTEMBER

With an easy first half of the month(s) coming up, playing Catania, Latina and Hellas Verona - the second half of the month doesn't look as easing. We are yet to find out our Champions League Group Stage opponents yet, but we play Lazio and Sampdoria on top of that which will always be a challenge no matter what.

After a transfer window without causing too much confidence among the A.C. Milan fanbase, the firesale of millions-worth of players has finally come to something.

Marco Verratti has returned to the Serie A after a four-year absence from the Italian top-flight.

The 5'5" midfielder grew through Pescara's youth academy after rejecting offers from Internazionale and Atalanta at 16 years old.

He made his first-team debut in 2008 at the same age against Reggiana. But when the 2009/10 season came around, Verratti appeared a lot more times for Biancazzuri.

His performances generated national media coverage as a potential star of the future and Italian international.

With Zdeněk Zeman as manager, Verratti excelled as a deep-lying playmaker in a Pescara team which won the 2011–12 Serie B title playing "the best football in Italy", earning promotion to Serie A the following season.

In 2012, the youngster signed a five-year deal with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, in which he ended his first season with a Ligue 1 winners medal.

Verratti had an even better season in the 2013/14 season. He was named as the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year and included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year for 2013–14.

But after a £14.25 million move to Premier League side Arsenal, he excelled in a Josep Guardiola side, making 28 appearances in his first season.

He made 116 appearances in all competitions in his four seasons at Arsenal. This form has now led to a £36,000,000 move back to Italy, playing for Uwe Rösler's A.C. Milan.

His new manager, Rösler said the 24-year-old has the potential to be Milan's 'next Andrea Pirlo'. A quote which will certainly get Milan fans excited about their new big-money signing.

As the new season gets underway across Europe, this years UEFA Champions League groups have been drawn today.

Shortly after A.C. Milan's 5-0 battering of Catania on Wednesday, the good news kept on coming for the Rossoneri, as they were drawn in the Champions League once again.

Uwe Rösler's team were placed in Group C. The highest rated side in this group besides Milan, would have to be Chelsea - led by Jurgen Klopp.

The Kensington side have been recently accused of using A.C. Milan as a 'feeder club' in recent seasons.

They have received this name by their relentless purchases of Milan's players. It started in 2015 when the London side completed the deal involving Milan's highly-rated winger Stephan El Shaarawy for a fee of around £15,000,000.

This has continued every season since, with Chelsea completing big-money deals for Milan right-back Mattia De Sciglio and this summer it has been defensive-midfielder Ramiro for a fee of almost £40 million.

Other teams in Group C are Swiss Super League champions FC Basel, with Cypriot team APOEL Nicosia entering as a fourth seed.

The annual 'Group of Death's' have been between Group F, consisting of Bayern Munich, Valencia, Internazionale and Dinamo Moscow, or Group G - Real Madrid, SL Benfica, AFC Ajax and Besiktas.

A.C. Milan will kick off their Champions League campaign on 19th September when they face FC Basel at St. Jakobspark in Switzerland.

A.C. Milan have finally hit back at Chelsea's obsession with buying their players by completing a £38million deal for their world-class centre-back.

Kurt Zouma has left Stamford Bridge after spending three full seasons with the London side.

The centre-back joined up with Chelsea in January 2014 for a fee of £11.25 million from AS Saint-Etienne, but was loaned straight back to his club in France for the remainder of the season.

The French centre-back played 106 games in all competitions in his time at The Blues, including a 50-game haul in the 2015-16 season, followed by 44 the next season.

In January 2014, Zouma was named by British newspaper The Observer as one of the ten most promising young players in Europe. They wrote "Blessed with exceptional power and technique, Zouma is also coveted by many for his leadership qualities".

Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy likened Zouma to Marcel Desailly, another Frenchman who played in defence for Chelsea.

Writing after a draw with Manchester City, Murphy noted Zouma's reliability and confidence against the strong opponent, in addition to his pace. He predicted that Zouma could be a Chelsea mainstay for years to come, and would be an ideal replacement for John Terry, then aged 34.

But now Zouma has linked up with Uwe Rösler's A.C. Milan for the next five years - so his contract tells us. The 22-year-old signs for Milan for £38,000,000 from Chelsea.

I'm not sure if it was the factor of our new stadium - the Milan Arena - which has given us a new lease of life, but we have started the season off in an absolutely tremendous fashion - winning every game but one, which was a draw to Sampdoria. Kurt Zouma has had a great first month for us, but it was Francismar Bern who caught the spotlight as he scored in every single game this month - finishing the month with eleven goals in seven appearances in all competitions.

LEAGUE TABLE

Our draw against Sampdoria meant that we ended up in second place come the end of September, with Juvenus taking the lead with six wins. Internazionale are five points behind us, but have a game in hand to use on us. This case is the same with Udinese. Obviously, the league will change a lot as it goes on but I believe we have set a good standard to play on for the rest of the season.

We play our second Champions League fixture against APOEL Nicosia from Cyprus at home, which may be a challenge, I don't follow Cypriot football too much. We then go onto face Juventus who sit top of the table at the moment, followed by Udinese who are five points behind us with a game in hand. That isn't even mentioning what I believe is the toughest game in Chelsea in the third group stage match of the Champions League. I just hope we are able to pull through it without losing that many points.
