So much to read! Welcome back Shylax :)

July 5, 2014
Cuiaba 1 - 0 Treze
It was nice to win, but a bit of a let-off, we only scored when Giva got a long pass and got caught out wide, he was fouled inside the box as he was trying to cut in and do something with the chance.

July 13, 2014
Cuiaba 2 - 0 CRB
A good 2-0 win. Nothing too special about it. Giva ended his goal drought, which is encouraging to see.

July 20, 2014
Fortaleza 0 - 3 Cuiaba
Despite being favored pre-match, Fortaleza set up defensively and it didn't work for them, as Lourival scored a brace and Elanardo scored a great free kick goal. Right back Eder Sciola gashed his lower leg and will miss 3-4 weeks.

July 27, 2014
Cuiaba 1 - 3 ASA
Our first loss in this competition. Alan Pinheiro scored 2 goals for ASA, we got off to a bad start, equalized after the first goal, but fell behind and couldn't catch up.

Brazilian Serie C Table

With only 8 games to play we're in 1st and should qualify for a playoff spot.
Very nice start to the league campaign, Botafogo aren't far behind, though.

Brazilian Heroics 1.11 - August 2014

Transfers
In:
- Loaned Matheus Pranke from Vitoria on a free season-long loan. I didn't really need him, but look at him! He's amazing! I needed to keep him away from the other teams!

Out:
- No transfers out.

August 3, 2014
Paysandu 0 - 2 Cuiaba
It's our fourth meeting of the season and we seem to have their number as we've won all four now. Giva scored a brace, and Marlon had an impressive double save at the end of the first half to help keep a clean sheet.

August 9, 2014
Cuiaba 4 - 1 Aguia de Maraba
Midfielder Fernando picked up a very rare hat trick, scoring two penalties and getting on the end of a free kick. Giva also had a very good game, picking up a goal and an assist.

August 16, 2014
Cuiaba 1 - 1 Salgueiro
A rare misstep for us here. Samuel got the lead for us on a corner kick but we gave it away on a free kick and never regained it.

August 23, 2014
CRAC 0 - 1 Cuiaba
Maybe it was the new tactic, maybe it was the pressure of potentially qualifying for the playoffs, or maybe both, but I wanted to try out a 4-3-2-1 tactic and it led to a narrow 1-0 win over the worst team in the table. It needs more work.

August 31, 2014
Botafogo 1 - 4 Cuiaba
We ran out to a quick 4-0 lead, Botafogo pulled one back, and then Elias picked up his second yellow and was sent off. Our goalscoring stopped after that, but they couldn't score, either.

Brazilian Serie C Table

We're a point away from being locked into 1st place in our group, which is very nice with 3 games left.

Brazilian Heroics 1.12 - September 2014/End of Regular Season

Transfers
In:
- (9/12/2014) In order to bolster the defense in advance of the playoffs, I've loaned Drausio from parent club Atletico Paranaense. Despite being listed first as a CB, I signed him to start at DM.

Out:
- (9/3/2014) Midfielder Fernando strained his knee ligaments and will miss 2-3 months, since the season's almost over, I'm terminating his loan.

The youth intake is, unfortunately, crap as well in Brazil, at least for us. Nothing worth writing about.

September 7, 2014
Treze 0 - 3 Cuiaba
Give had a hat trick here and was very impressive.

- (9/8/2014) Marcelo Toscano also suffered strained knee ligaments and will miss 2-3 months. Sadly, he isn't on a loan, so I can't terminate it.

September 14, 2014
Cuiaba 1 - 0 Fortaleza
Drausio asserted himself very well in his debut, getting an interception in the very first highlight and scoring the only goal of the match.

- (9/21/2014) Right back Eder Sciola suffered a hernia and will miss the rest of the season. Also, left back Grafite suffered a chest injury and will likely miss the rest of the season too.

September 21, 2014
CRB 2 - 0 Cuiaba
CRB just came out with much more fire, we had sown up first seed long before this match and CRB needed to outpoint Fortaleza to win the fourth playoff spot, but it's still very disappointing.

Brazilian Serie C Table

Despite CRB's best efforts, Fortaleza won their final match too and got the playoff spot with their tiebreaker.

Second Stage Tournament Bracket

That Pranke guy looks like a BBM in the making! Great loans, Shylax :D
Matheus Pranke, looks very interesting and has potential big enough I think.
Congratulations for the results, and good luck!

Brazilian Heroics 1.13 - Playoffs 1

Second Stage Tournament Bracket

Remember, all four semifinalists win promotion, so this two-legged series is for a promotion.

To cover for Eder Sciola's injury, I brought in Foguete on a loan from Sao Paulo. He's kind of like the right back counterpart to Fernando Jose, more of a winger than a fullback, but that's what I want.

First Leg
Guaratingueta 0 - 1 Cuiaba
Giva's goal gave us the early lead, and at least we didn't fall apart, but we should've done better and we'll have to play well at home too to take this.

In between legs, I got a new contract through 2015, and some of my players' contracts inexplicably retired in the middle of October, thankfully they weren't needed for the playoff push.

Second Leg
Cuiaba 5 - 1 Guaratingueta (6 - 1 on aggregate)
Despite an early penalty threatening a Guaratingueta comeback, the team got itself together in the second half, and Lourival scored a hat trick in order to help us pass through convincingly.

Semifinal Bracket

First Leg
Botafogo (PB) 4 - 1 Cuiaba
I'm not sure exactly what happened here, other than Botafogo were very clinical. Giva's goal gives us a small glimmer of hope but we're still behind the 8-ball. To make it worse, both center backs Elias and Samuel are yellow-banned for the next match.

Second Leg
Cuiaba 2 - 1 Botafogo (PB) (3 - 5 on aggregate)
We won the second leg but didn't win by enough to advance, very disappointing considering I thought we had a very good team.

Botafogo defeat ASA on penalties after a 0-0 draw over two legs to win the Serie C title.
Shame about not getting what you wanted! So close >.<

Brazilian Heroics 2.01 - 2015 Offseason

If it worked before, why not do it again?
These players' loans were renewed for the 2015 season: Giva, Lourival, Matheus Pranke, Fernando Jose, Lucao, and Foguete.

Upgraded facilities
The training facilities are being upgraded, although I'd like to focus on youth the training facilities are most immediately important and I couldn't get funding for the youth facilities. Also, the scouting range was upgraded to anywhere in South America.

Copa Sudamericana
As a result of winning the Copa Verde, we've qualified for the Copa Sudamericana in the Preliminary Stage.

Transfers
In:
- Defensive midfielder Bertotto in on a free season-long loan from Internacional. He's a bit slow, but he has everything I want out of a halfback.
- Central midfielder Ronaldo in on a free season-long loan from Sport Recife. He can be an anchor man or box to box, or CM-A in a pinch. His dribbling and off the ball could present issues, but beggars can't be choosers.
- Attacking midfielder Marcinho on a free season-long loan from Corinthians (notice a trend here?), he slots in nicely in the #10 hole and his only knock is mediocre anticipation, but otherwise, he looks great.
- Center back Luiz Felix on a free season-long loan from Sao Paulo, he looks like he has the potential to be a good ball-playing defender, although his defensive attributes aren't as keen as I'd like.
- Goalkeeper Andrey on a free season-long loan from Botafogo (the one in Serie A). He looks like a great sweeper keeper for this level.
- Defensive midfielder Otavio on a free season-long loan from parent club Atletico Paranaense. Apparently he's being touted as the next Dunga. High praise.
- Striker Pablo on a free season-long loan from parent club Atletico Paranaense. He looks like he could be a very prolific goalscorer at this level.
- Striker Dellatorre on a free season-long loan from parent club Atletico Paranaense. He also looks great. FM agrees, as they label him "the next Ronaldo". The highest of praises. But he's only rated 4* potential. Huh.
- Signed free agent left back Romario to a 1 year, 1.2k/week contract, he's not much of a defender, but he can go forward and affect a match that way. Since my system is kind of a modified 3-5-2, I can live with that.

Out:
- Marcelo Toscano sold to Gremio Osasco Audax for 0 Euros (a classic get the f*** off my books sale)
- Moises's contract mutually terminated for a fee of 35K Euros.
- Ernani's contract mutually terminated for a fee of 65K Euros.

Friendlies
No one gives a crap about friendlies, and since my tactics are set, I am letting the ass man handle them. If you want the results that badly, here they are.

Brazilian Heroics 2.02 - February 2015

Transfers
In:

Out:
- Striker Careca signs with Portuguesa for a fee of 21.5K Euros, which can increase to 34.5K with add-ons. He's a good player, but he was on 2700/wk and was coming off a major injury, plus I can get better strikers on loan.

February 17, 2015
Uniao Rondonopolis 0 - 3 Cuiaba
Giva scored a wonderful hat trick to give us the victory.

Pablo conceded an early penalty and CEOV got off to the lead, but we stormed back to rout them 4-1.

Luverdense 1 - 3 Cuiaba
It was a good game for the center backs as both Luiz Felix and Elias scored.

Giva scored 20 seconds into the match, and the rout was on.

February 27, 2015

State Championship Table

So, yeah.
Only 3 goals conceded, throughout this month! Great run of form :)

Brazilian Heroics 2.03 - March 2015

Transfers
In:
- Alex Santana on loan from Internacional. They insisted on us paying the wages, and while I didn't want to take on any more wages, he's too good not to take on.
