Toulouse have had a poor start to the season, claiming only one victory in four matches. Their first match of the season saw Toulouse take on Montpellier HSC where fans of Le TFC were heartbroken when Borja Mayoral scored in injury time to earn Montpellier HSC a draw.
The next two fixtures resulted in consecutive defeats to Stade Rennais FC and En Avant de Guingamp. Kelechi Iheanacho struggled up front as Toulouse clearly struggled without star striker Wissam Ben Yedder.
In the final match of the month, Toulouse defeated FC Metz 4-1 at Stadium Municipal with strong performances put forward from Dimitri Foulquier, William Matheus and M’Baye Niang.

After performing inconsistently last season, Cristian Pavon has got off to a positive start to the season by winning the Player Of The Month award for August. Pavon has managed to provide Toulouse with two goals and two assists during the first four matches of the season.
Throughout the off-season, Pavon was linked to a move to Bayern Munich with manager Pep Guardiola said to be interested in the player. Despite the interest, reports suggest that Bayern Munich and Toulouse were unable to reach an agreement on a transfer fee.

Getting off to a poor start this season, Toulouse find themselves in 13th heading into September. Olympique Lyonnais have been incredibly impressive, winning all five of their games to start the season.

Toulouse chairman Olivier Sadran has announced that the club will be upgrading the training and youth facilities at the club. The upgrades are expected to cost the club €10.5 million in total with the work set to be completed in October 2018.
The Toulouse squad currently features eight players who were trained by the club in Loic Bessile, Alexis Blin, Quentin Boisgard, Dany Maury, Maxime Pelican, Adrien Regattin, Marc Vidal and Steeve Yago. The Toulouse youth system also currently contains three prospects in Marco Carbone, Hernan Lanoix and Angel Guerrero who are being touted as future first team squad members.
“The club has made incredible progress over the past two years and it is important that the increased income from our recent success is reinvested into the club.” said Sadran. “In order to achieve continual success, we must always be planning for the future of the club.” he added.
“The investment in facilities is a magnificent step forward for the club.” said Toulouse manager Dominique Arribage. “The upgrade will ensure that the club is in a good position for many years to come.” he added.
