Toulouse started the season with a 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, their first loss against the club in the past nine fixtures. In the next two fixtures, Cristian Pavon led Toulouse to two dominant performances over En Avant de Guingamp and Stade Rennais.

In a poor performance, Toulouse managed to get past Havre Athletic Club with a 1-0 victory when they managed to score in the final minute of injury time. The final match of the month saw a goal from Wissam Ben Yedder prove the difference as Toulouse defeated rivals Girondins de Bordeaux.


Continuing his good from discovered towards the end of last season, Cristian Pavon has managed to find consistency in his game which has allowed him to be regarded as one of the most dangerous players in Ligue 1.

Toulouse have kept Pavon at the club despite receiving astronomical bids from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window. Should he continue his early season form, the interest in his services is sure to continue.


Starting the season in good form, Toulouse find themselves at the top of the Ligue 1 table alongside Paris Saint-Germain. FC Nantes sit in third, getting off to a terrific start to the season and seeing their fans begin to dream of a Ligue 1 campaign similar to their efforts during 2015/16 season.

Expected title contenders AS Monaco have gotten off to a poor start to the season alongside recently promoted Tours FC who have only one point from their first four matches to see them sitting in last place.


After being drawn in a relatively tough group, Toulouse will open their UEFA Champions League campaign in a match against Zenit St Petersburg which is set to be played at Stadium Municipal.

Playing their first fixture in the middle of September due to the international break, Toulouse had to wait until injury time to seal victory against Dijon FCO with Lucas Leiva hitting an incredible strike from the edge of the box to win the game.

Despite a brace from Hulk, Toulouse defeated Zenit St Petersburg in their opening UEFA Champions League fixture followed by a dominant 3-0 victory over Stade Malherbe Caen. In the final two matches of the month, Toulouse defeated OGC Nice and AS Monaco to see the club complete a perfect month of results.


After arriving at Toulouse on loan from Chelsea at the start of the season, Victor Moses has made an instant impact at the club to see him named the Player of the Month for September. Moses contributed with two goals and two assists in four games during the month.

Despite struggling to secure regular first team football during the past few seasons, the 27-year-old appears to have not missed a step during this period. Proving a constant threat due to his overall physical ability, should the Nigerian international be able to sustain his current form he will prove to be a difficult challenge to handle for any team he faces.


Paris Saint-Germain have performed well during September to see them maintain their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table. Toulouse find themselves three points behind the leaders with only the fixture between the two sides at the start of the season separating the two sides..

A number of teams find themselves playing above expectations with Stade Rennais, LOSC Lille and FC Nantes all getting off to a good start to the season while expected title contenders AS Monaco find themselves sitting mid-table two months into the competition.

At the bottom of the table, a number of sides find themselves grouped together with no clear relegation contender appearing early in the season.


After Toulouse defeated Zenit St Petersburg they find themselves sitting on top of Group F with Olympiakos securing a 0-0 draw against Juventus. In October, the sides will all play two more games to give a true indication of each teams standing within the group.
