2020/21 UEFA Champions League Second qualifying round draw

22/06/2020

The road to Berlin begins for Klubi in the Second qualifying round of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League. This is the first time since the 2017/18 edition of the tournament that we have participated in the tournament. The draw in Nyon, Switzerland today has pitted Kévin Gauthier's side against the the champions of Estonia FC Levadia.

With the draw Estonian side FC Levadia Tallinn it is the first time in either clubs histories that that have faced off in any competition and are looking forward to a great match up.

The first leg is scheduled for July 15 and the return leg for July 22. More details on date and kick-off times to follow.

Manager Kévin Gauthier had a few thoughts on the draw, " I really do not know much or anything about this side so I can't comment on how good or bad they are but we will be prepared and ready for this showdown. I encourage all supporters to come out for both legs as Estonia is not that bad of a trip and help get Klubi to the next round."

Tickets for this round will start at €15 for our home match on the 22nd. Season ticket and supporters get first priority in tickets. They will go on sale beginning 1 July.
Best of luck in your European campaign!

Hopefully you can beat them easily....
Should be a relatively comfortable victory for your side
Griffo Thanks

Live For FM This is very exciting as I have never faced a team from Estonia in all the years I have played FM

Should win this one, good luck though!

June Review

30/06/2020

At the halfway park of the season Klubi is starting to gain even more momentum with sixteen league matches to go. In this month it was pretty good with the exception of the PK-35 and IFK Mariehamn matchdays. With seventeen matches completed so far in 2020 HJK is now leading the table with a total of 41 points.

June began with a 2-0 victory over SJK and continued with victories over FC Lahti, KuPS, FC Inter and TPS. On the other hand the club struggled to get a victory over both PK-35 and IFK Mariehamn resulting in a draw and loss respectably. The biggest moment came against KuPS after a 6-1 beat down. Juho Hiltunen lead the match with a hat trick while Mikko Kuningas scored two of his own and finally Ilmari Ylönen scored the other.

Player of the Month:

Ilmari Ylönen had one of the best months of his young carer. The 23 year old forward was very active in all matches contributing each and every play. In total Ilmari scored seven goals in seven matches, giving himself a total of ten for the league.

Managers Thoughts:
Overall it was a good month despite the two bad results. Obviously we would have liked to have picked up more points against sides that will probably be close to the bottom of the table or just missing out from Europe come the end of the season, and the draw against PK-35 was very hard to take, as we were very poor and had to let them score an own goal in order to get the one point. However this team is ready for Champions League, and hopefully they learn from the two blemishes this month that things can slip real fast.

What to look forward to in July:
The biggest event for the upcoming month is the second qualifying round draw against Estonian club FC Levadia Tallinn. Other than Champions League there will be a total of six league matches but that could change depending how good HJK does against FC Levadia Tallinn. The month kicks off with the Stadin Derby against HIFK on the 5th.

good luck in the Champions League mate, you're doing really well in the league, hopefully you can make a push for the latter stages of the qualifying stages of the CL

Journal Entry #9

1 July, 2020

Wow today is officially marks my fifth year in Management. These past five years have been some of the most interesting and enjoyable times of my life. I have gotten to meet so many interesting people and have traveled to many places that I have never been before. I really hope the next five are this enjoyable and my passion for coaching leads me to other interesting places. Anyways for this journal posting I would love to talk about the clubs I have been at and how I grew as a manager and person.

Five years ago today is when I started fresh as a rookie manager in New Caledonia. I honestly had no clue that this job and team would turn out as amazing as it did. If you had told me that during the two and a half years with AS Mont-Dore I would win numerous titles including two from the O-League I would call you stupid. Seriously though I want to thank Albert Mapone wherever he is for giving me this opportunity. From what I have read the team is still doing amazing and they keep winning.

Despite all of that I think my next place of employment was just as interesting. In the year 2018 I would end up in Macau. Now this was insane as I was lucky to have such a great team(s) and the league rules were pretty cool. Even though I didn’t stick along there long enough I still am proud of bringing home five trophies from there. To be honest though I really wasn’t feeling Sporting or Macau at all and was ready to jump ship after the 2019 season. I don’t know why but I truly wasn’t happy being there and I just felt out of place.

Now with HJK I am honestly the happiest that I have been in a long time and am so thankful for this opportunity. There is so much energy here and for some reason this club was the best fit for me. I have no clue what it is about Finland but I am drawn to it and never want to leave. Yes that is right, it will be hard to pull me away from HJK or this country. The biggest thing I am looking forward to is Champions League in a few days, which is going to be exciting.

To finish this post off I want to look ahead to the future. I hope the next five years are just as enjoyable. Even if they are not I am still happy to be what I am and that is a football manager. Hopefully I can become bigger than I am and that the media start making bs rumors about where I am coaching next. Well for now HJK and Finland is what I can call home.

Well this is all I have for now. It is time to get ready for another busy month of football and I am not sure the next time I am writing.

Until next time!!!
5 years of turning everything into gold mate, keep it up! God knows where you're going to be five years from now! Champions League glory is not so far away :P
Wow, 5 years! Time flies when you're having fun mate! ;)
Sitting very comfortably on top of the table, I wonder what job could come up that would get you interested in moving
Christ that has gone quick.
