Having seen Ajax stun Juventus and Madrid in the Champions League irl I believe in this sides ability to go and beat these three sides and progress
Had to know an Ajax story was coming after their recent success, best of luck!
Can't wait to see an Ajax story! After this seasons showing in Europe, it will be amazing to see what you can do with the incredible youth at their disposal.
The year has flown by for Milan de Koningh and Ajax. After the shock defeat to PEC Zwolle in the third game of the Eredivisie season, they went on an unbeaten run of 27 games. Dropping just six points, before the 1-0 home defeat against FC Utrecht. Which concidentenly came just one game after Ajax sealed the Eredivisie title. Many predicted that was Ajax taking their foot of the throttle and having a Championship winning hangover.

The dreaded Champions League group of death started well enough, with a deserved 1-1 draw away at the San Siro before losing 4-1 to Liverpool, then 4-0 and 4-1 home and away against Atletico Madrid. A famous 1-0 home win over A.C Milan before travelling to Anfield and coming away with an undeserved 2-1 defeat, and thanks to Atletico winning against Milan. Ajax sealed 3rd place and a spot in the Europa League knockout stages.

The Europa League, the pressure was off Ajax somewhat. And after they were paired with AS Monaco in what many saw Monaco as overwhelming favourites, but wary of Ajax’s capabilities. A rampant first leg 4-0 victory saw them progress, with rivals PSV awaiting them. Many predicting a close affair, but Ajax once again blew their rivals away and a 4-0 home win coupled with a 3-2 away win, saw Ajax progress and face a team they’ve already faced in the Champions League qualifier, Marseille. And just like in the Champions League, Ajax came out on top with both home and away wins, and Ajax’s confidence grew and grew as they reached the Semi-Final and a tie against surprise package, Rapid Vienna. And they proved to be quite tough with Ajax getting a 1-1 draw away from home, before grabbing the all important victory 3-2 in the return leg.

With a Europa League final beckoning and a match against Tottenham, who had overcame Manchester United in the previous round. Tottenham were huge favourites, after finishing 3rd in the league, but somehow, someway, a goal from Tonali in the 22nd minute, coupled with a Harry Kane missed penalty in the 2nd half, meant Ajax and Milan de Koningh added another trophy to their European Cabinet in what proved to be a hugely successful season for both club and manager. And Ajax’s Europa League win has proved fruitful for both Ajax and Dutch football. As now, the league winners instead of qualifying head straight into the group stage, and the runners up, have less qualifying games to prepare for. And the same goes for the Europa league, they head straight into the group and have less qualifying to do. So many are hoping this rejuvenation of Dutch football continues.

What a season! Congrats on your title win mate :)
A perfect season! Congratulations and hopefully it is the start of many more successes.

With the majority of my senior players either still on holiday or playing in the European Championships, the training ground had been pretty quiet, besides the youngsters, and the ones that wanted to hit the ground running into the new season. With a European Championship Semi-Final against Spain on the horizon, the country was gripped, and rightly so. Dutch football was on the up. Taking in my surroundings, i heard a familiar voice behind me.

“Milan, figured i’d find you out here.” Without even turning around, i knew instantly it was my good friend and Director of Football here at Ajax, Marc Overmars.

“It’s peaceful this time of year. Why not take in all that we accomplished last year, right here. And look forward to new beginnings next season.”

“Well i’ve got some news, with regards to the playing roster, we need to reduce it. We understood your request for you to see who’s got what it takes and who hasn’t for the first year. Now for those that haven’t, they need to move on. Last season was impressive on and off the pitch, and i’m confident we can do the same again this season. But it’s imperative we reduce costs, to maintain that flow through the club. So who’s it to be.” Even though we are best friends, and he was my best man, Marc was ruthless on the pitch as a player and he’s taken that approach into becoming the director of football. He approached me for the job, i made sure he stayed despite advances from his old club, Arsenal.

“Okore, Llorente, Arabidze, De Tomas, Kaj Sierhuis, Jairo are the main ones. And if we get big enough offers, then Onana, Neres and Ziyech can go. But not on the cheap. With the transfer market the way it is, we should be able to pull in at least £100 million.” Marc stood before me shocked, that i mentioned the last three names.

“Andre, David and Hakim? Are you sure about this? They’ll bring in a huge chunk of that, but the quality they’ve got can’t be denied.” Placing an a hand on his shoulder, i just smiled.

“Don’t worry, my friend. Pau Lopez replaces Andre. We’ve got Trincao and Doan, as well as Che to replace David. Pelayo, Ramires and Kasey Palmer are more than capable of filling, Hakim’s boots. You trusted me enough to give me this opportunity, and i repaid you. Now trust me again and know what i’m doing is best for this club.” Marc smiled back at me, nodding his head.

“Of course my friend, my trust in you will never waiver. But i need to ask something of you as well, Milan.” Marc was abit more serious this time.

“We’ve made a business decision and brought in a new signing to staff. She’s going to do a wide range of positions. To start with she’’s going to model our new kits, she’s an athletic trainer, and has over 319k followers on instagram, so the extra exposure to her fans will be greatly rewarding for us. But not only that, she’s an Ajax fan and wanted to work with the first team, youth, whatever you want her to do in the fitness department.” Marc was abit hesitant, because this was an appointment behind my back. And he’s sure i wouldn’t agree to it.

“But, Milan, if you agree. I’d advise for it not to be in the medical department, because otherwise all the players will be faking injuries. Her name is Anniek van Keulen. An absolute head turner. And we need you to show her around, show her the ropes, then place her where you want.” He said with a grin.

“Ok, i’ll show her around and if there’s a job for her in the fitness side of things, then we’ll see what she’s got. But if she distracts the lads too much, she’s gone.” Marc laughed knowing Milan’s work ethic out on that field. If the players don’t give 120% in training and come match day, they’ll find themselves benched.

“Thank you, friend. Me, Edwin, Marco, Wim, Michael (Reiziger), Aron, John (Heitinga), Winston, Richard (Witschge), Cedric, Patrick, Clarence and Jaap are all meeting up later to head over to Wembley to watch Oranje defeat Spain, you coming?” I smiled, nodding.

“Try and stop me.”
Congratulations on an emphatic title win!

Being in England for no more than a day, taking in Holland’s unfortunate defeat to Spain, ending their dreams of glory at the semi-final stage. It was back home and back to work. And with everyone still on their holidays or competing in the Euros, me and Marc headed to the studio for the official photoshoot for the new kits, and my first chance to meet Anniek van Keulen.

After making our way through the crowds, my eyes met Anniek and my breath was taken away. She was more than a head turner, this woman, she was something else.

“Wow. She’s beautiful.” Marc laughed, and looked at me with a knowingly nod.

“See what i mean.” I did. I hadn’t felt this towards another woman, since i first gazed upon my wife across the dancefloor. Both times, my breath was taken away. But i needed to stay professional, i couldn’t let my devilish thoughts enter my mind. I just couldn’t.

“I’ll introduce you both.” Marc had a word with the photographer, as he took a break and he called Anniek over, nothing better than seeing a beautiful woman in your team's colours, nothing beats it.

“Anniek, it’s great to see you again. It’s my pleasure to introduce to you, the legend of Ajax and your boss, Milan.” Stepping forward with a smile, we shook hands.

“Nice to meet you, Anniek. Marc has spoken very highly of you. And i’m looking forward to seeing what you can bring to this team.” Cool, calm and collected, nailed it.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to meet you, Mr. de Koningh. You’ve been a huge idol of mine, and i’m so happy you got to become manager here and to give me this opportunity as well. I won’t let you down.” A beautiful smile crept across that beautiful face of hers, as my exterior melted and i smiled back.

“Milan. Can me, Milan. Can definitely use your expertise in the fitness department, definitely won’t be using you in the medical department. I’m sure our injuries would sky rocket with you around.” So much for keeping my cool.

“Thank you, Milan. And i’ll take that as a compliment.” She glanced a smirk my way, as the photographer made his way back over and called for Anniek to finish up the shoot. As me and Marc walked off. I don’t know why, but i couldn’t resist looking back at Anniek and in doing so, our eyes met and my cool, calm exterior melted once again as i quickly spun my head back round.

“I told you, Milan. She’s a headturner, definitely going to change things around here.” With my heart racing, i couldn’t help but agree with Marc as all my thoughts were of Anniek. What the hell was happening?

Summer Transfer Window 2020

With a transfer budget of almost £90 million, Ajax had a significant advantage over their rivals in the Eredivisie, but to conquer Europe, that budget would be potentially needed. Milan was targeting seasoned pros to make a go of the Champions League, but instead he decided to put all his faith and trust in youth. And in doing so, would enable Ajax to continue making a profit. Bringing in another 20 players for a combined fee of £61 million, with three significant loans in the shape of Arthur from Barcelona, Iheanacho from Leicester and Juan Foyth from Tottenham. Milan was hell bent on progressing in the Champions League. Although winning the Europa League was enjoyable for everyone involved, they all craved the Champions League. None more so than, Milan de Koningh. He was forced to sell Andre Onana, Hakim Ziyech. And even though Tonali also wanted to leave after having a bid rejected from Liverpool, Milan refused and stayed firm. He also managed to keep David Neres, even though he planned for his departure with the signings of highly rated duo Francisco Trincao from Benfica and Ritsu Doan from FC Groningen. So now Milan has the job of trying to keep all three happy, but you can see Neres leaving at some point in the next year or two.

Dutch Super
Ajax 3-1 sc Heerenveen

After a hugely successful first season, the boys picked up where they left off and picked up our first piece of silverware of the season, dispatching sc Heerenveen with apparent ease. Antonio Marin who is looking to improve on last seasons 6 goals, 8 assists in 32 games in all competitions, starts the season with a brace, and a debut goal from 18 year old, Kaio Jorge from Brazil. As the victory never looked in doubt.

Eredivisie
Go Ahead 0-1 Ajax

With a much changed side for Ajax’s opening Eredivisie game with Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup on the horizon in midweek playing on Milan’s mind. But his second string didn’t let him down. And even though the scoreline suggests it was close, the stats however paint a completely different picture. As Kasey Palmer scored on his debut in the 20th minute to seal all three points for the away side.

European Super Cup
Atletico Madrid 1-1 Ajax (6-7) on penalties.

Reverting back to his full strength team, Milan was hoping to avoid last season’s results against Atletico 4-1 and 4-0. And Vincent Janssen opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and Ajax continued to dominate the Champions League winners, but failed to convert that second goal, as a Thomas Lemar freekick early in the second half, made things level and that’s how it stayed for the entire 120 minutes. Every player stepped up and scored and with the scores at 6-6, Mario Gaspar has his penalty saved by Lopez. And with Zakaria stepping up to take his next, the pressure was all on him. But he calmly dispatched his penalty home to give Ajax a huge victory over the Champions League holders, and will surely give them much needed encouragement heading into this seasons competition.

Eredivisie
Ajax 2-0 ADO Den Haag

Milan once again gave his second string a run out in this Eredivisie game, and once again they dominated and walked away with three points, thanks to goals from Pelayo Morilla and an own goal from Eliseu Nadjack..

Eredivisie
Feyenoord 0-1 Ajax

With no European commitments, Milan fielded a full strength team for the seasons first “De Klassieker” and it was a complete and dominating performance from Ajax, but they only managed to make the net bulge just the once, thanks to Vincent Janssen in the 42nd minute. Feyenoord didn’t threaten the Ajax goal at all, and Ajax continued with a 100% record in the Eredivisie. Who can stop Ajax, domestically.

Eredivisie
Sparta 0-4 Ajax

The last game of August, and before the International break, was once again in Rotterdam, but this time Sparta were the hosts. And with one thing in common, they hated Feyenoord just as much as Ajax did. And the match was pretty predictable, as Ajax finished as easy winners, thanks to a brace from Marin, and goals from Janssen & Thiago Almada.

Eredivisie
Ajax 3-0 VVV-Venlo

Still not being able to use his full strength side in the league, as Milan has prioritised the Champions League game against Tottenham in midweek, and to be honest, he doesn’t need his first team out as the second string are doing well enough. As Kaio Jorge opened the scoring in the 3rd minute. And it wasn’t until the 56th minute, and Jay Dasilva made it 2-0, before Kasey Palmer rounded off the victory in the 75th minute.

Champions League - Match day One
Ajax 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur

In what was billed as a close game, was anything but, as Ajax ran riot against the team they beat in the Europa League final, back in May. Trincao opened the scoring after 12 minutes, Janssen got one over his former club again by netting the second in the 27th minute. Casemiro pulled one back six minutes later and many thought this was the start of a Tottenham fightback, but Zakaria scored a header from a Hugo Lloris error. Before Almada scored from the spot with 16 minutes left on the clock, before Vincent Janssen really rubbed salt into the wounds, with his second and Ajax’s fifth with 79 minutes gone.

“It was a perfect performance, the lads should be immensely proud of themselves. Tottenham is a tricky game, not only because they’ve got a good squad and did well last season in a much stronger league, but the wife is a Spurs fan. So are her family, and our kids are Ajax and Spurs fans, so they allegiances were tested. So i think i might be in the bad books for awhile, but it’s worth it. So worth it.”

Eredivisie
Ajax 4-0 AZ Alkmaar.

Being able to use his first team for the first time in the league this season, as AZ who were second turned up at the Johan Cruijff ArenA and were outclassed. As Thiago Almada stole the show with the first hat-trick of his career in the 2nd, 47th and a penalty to seal it, in the 68th minute. Before Janssen completed a comprehensive victory in the 89th minute.

KNVB Cup First Round
Ajax 9-0 TEC VV

The giants of Dutch football, welcomed minnows TEC VV to Amsterdam and sent them home with a drubbing which was to be expected. As Kaio Jorge scored FIVE goals, Ritsu Doan scoring his first goals with a brace, Morilla, a debut goal from Mendez and an own goal from their keeper, Joel Saro. In what was merely a practice match for Ajax. And they now have the chance to exact revenge on the team that knocked them out last season, FC Twente in the next round.

Eredivisie
Ajax 1-1 sc Heerenveen

In a match completely dominated by Ajax yet again, they’ll be wondering how second place, Heerenveen managed it. Resting his first choice for the Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb, as Milan introduced Janssen and Marin into the fray in the second half, and Marin opened the scoring in the 61st minute. And Ajax looked to have all three points in the bag, until Wout Faes had a brain fart and decided to clear the ball with a diving header, right into the path of Fred Friday who slotted home the easiest chance he’ll ever get in the 92nd minute. And Milan was seething on the touchline, kicking a water bottle and flying onto the pitch, almost hitting a couple of Ajax players.

“I don’t know what Faes was doing, but he should know better. And he’ll be told when we get into the changing room. We should’ve gotten all three points, i just can’t believe it.”

Champions League Match Day Two
Dinamo 2-2 Ajax

In yet another match completely dominated by Ajax, they only managed to grab a point after trouncing Spurs 5-1 in the previous game. And that was mainly due to a high and dangerous tackle from Vincent Janssen in the 35th minute that saw him take an early bath, as Milan just shook his head as Janssen walked past him. But in the second half, Ajax did open the scoring through old Dinamo favourite, Marin in the 56th minute. With ten minutes left, Ademi pulled things level for Dinamo only for Zakaria to volley home four minutes later in the 84th minute to silence the home support. But just two minutes later they were in full voice as somehow, Dinamo snatched a point thanks to a goal from Mislav Orsic with four minutes left of normal time.

“Again, another disappointing draw through our own making. We should’ve easily won this. Instead we haven’t and this could be the game that potentially costs us qualification into the knockouts. And if it does, there will be hell to pay.”

Eredivisie Table

Champions League - Group E

I'm sure Ajax will be wanting to do the same to Spurs as you have done to them! Huge result and really impressive.
The result against Spurs shows that either you have improved since your last meeting, or Spurs have regressed a lot... I'll go with the former! ;)

Some great results there, although a couple of one's in which you'd have liked to improve, Heerenveen and Dinamo in particular. Hopefully there will be no more late drama against you in the coming games.
