Solid win as to be expected
Time to win it now!

Manchester City Vs Liverpool CL SF

Man City drew 2-2 at home to Burnley and were defeated 2-1 vs relegation threatened Birmingham in the build up to this one. This gave Liverpool a massive chance of overtaking them with 2 games to play, but of course they lost their first home game since 23rd April 2017 (2-1 vs Crystal palace), with a repeat of that score vs Fulham.

Liverpool with their German hero at the helm want their 7th Champions League title to put themselves level with Milan and even further ahead of the English clubs.
Manchester City want to retain it and put themselves firmly amongst the European greats!

It’s a defeat for City after 120 minutes but they win on penalties after Sadio Mane is the only player to miss.

Can Pep Guardiola win it again and become the all time record European cup winning manager?

His team stands in his way!

Comments:

Eoin97, Jack, Griffo and ScottT -
It's time the trophy came home to where it belongs! :)

Real Madrid have finally caught up and lead the way at the top!
H2H could be a real bonus for Barcelona IF Real Madrid drop points, which seems unlikely :(

Alaves and Valladolid are next before the big one.

Real Madrid have trickier fixtures with Sociedad and Levante.

Real Madrid with the 1pm kick off draw their first game since January, which means Barca can close the gap to a point with a win at Alaves (just above the red line).

It's hotting up in the La Liga title race!
You have to take advantage now.
A huge opportunity to overtake Real as they drop points away to a very talented Real Sociedad side. ;)

Barcelona did what was required to put themselves within a point of Madrid going into the final game. They will need some miracle for it to happen!

Messi returns to training after that knee injury suffered in April against PSG.
The hope is he will get some minutes against Valladolid to set him up for the Champions League Final

Borja Fornas - We have done everything we can do. Now we go into the final game with some hope, we need to concentrate on our game and see where that gets us.

Messi has returned to training, we will see over the week if he is ready to play the final game. I speak for everyone when I say it's important that he is fit and ready for the Final. We have monitored his progress throughout his time injured and we are all astonished with the work he is putting in to return to the field!

On the same day the under 19's lost their first game of the season on the last day of the season :(
Still an amazing achievement and losing may well be good for them in the long run. Possibly :)
So close! I can only hope Real have a tough opponent up next and more importantly: you run out winners in the finale!
Hopefully fortune is on your side.

La Liga MD38

Barca need Real Madrid to drop points against Levante if they are going to overtake them on the final day.
If they are to pull it off it would be the 4th in a row for the first time since 1990 - 1994 (Only time achieved by Barca)

Lionel Messi starts on the bench in this one with the Camp Nou prepped for the return of the King!

2 goals and an assist on Messi’s 31 minute return after 8 game absence, but an injury late on :(

It isn’t enough as Real Madrid win 1-0 against Levante!

Real Madrid win their 1st title in 3 years! Just their 3rd out of the last 10 seasons.
95 points is the 4th highest with the 3 points win rule. And Barcelona’s 2nd place 94pts is the 2nd highest for that position (Real M 96 2010).
94pts would have won the league in the last 7 seasons.
Real M achieve joint record fewest goals conceded with Atleti 2016 and Deportivo 1994.

23 for FCB is lowest since 2015 treble winning season, 81 scored is lowest since 2008 (haven’t been below 90 since then!)

Consistency that we didn't hold too after beating them!

We had the lead for so long :(

Borja Fornas – We did everything we could to win the league, but despite the amount of points collected it just wasn’t enough. We have to say Congratulations Real Madrid as they kept within distance the whole time and just pipped us to it.

Messi was magic. I would like to stress that we took him off as a precaution late on as he was struggling with his calf, but this is first competitive game back and we weren’t (maybe we should) expecting him to be at that level.

That image makes me feel ill. Madrid don't win La Liga anymore :(
The Champions League is of even higher importance now. It was the main objective at the start but going without any trophies could be the end of Fornas.

CL FINAL COMING UP SOON!!!
That's very tough. Madrid have been incredible this season.
2020-05-07 20:58#270157 ScottT : That's very tough. Madrid have been incredible this season.

Truly. We kind of bottled it but were amazing! :(
Other Top 4 Leagues

Madness in the Premier League !
Richarlison in the 85th minute wins it for Everton gifting LFC their 20th title! And the chance to celebrate at Anfield in front of United.

Leipzig followed suit and had multiple chances to claim the title for the 2nd season running!

Lazio did manage to keep within tough of Juventus for a long time but Juve just ran away with it in the end.

Record points for PSG and unbeaten for the first time! They once again fail in Europe and this seems like they have completed France now.

La Liga TOTS

Messi who missed 14 games is the only Barcelona player in the starting 11 :)
PSG have officially leveled up in France! What a crazy season! A few dramatic games on the final day of the domestic season.
