Sir Alex Ferguson, football manager for the Red Devils, was fired today after almost 24 years of service. The news has sent shockwaves throughout the football community and has shaken the worldwide fan base. Ferguson had recently found himself dealing with more off the field issues culminating with sex-capades of star striker Wayne Rooney. Early speculation is that team brass were simply not keen to tolerate Rooney’s behavior and grew frustrated when Ferguson remained firmly in the player’s corner. Ferguson may have even saw this coming when he told ESPNsoccernet recently that his successor “…needs to have a lot of experience” in response to the recent weeks events with Rooney.

The always quiet Glazer family had very little to say on the matter at the time of press. “Alex has brought nothing but glory to United and we thank him for all his years of service and leadership”, stated Avram Glazer.

When pressed for further details as to whom they might replace the legendary Ferguson with, Glazer simply stated “…you will all know shortly”.

Manchester United have announced the hiring of little known Adonis Pimp as new football manager at Old Trafford. A. Pimp is little known in current football circles as it has been over 10 years since he was forced out at West Ham due to back to back season ending injuries. A. Pimp has since stayed close to the game and up until today had been a scout for the Red Devils in North America.

“While we understand Adonis is not a household name to most, he has earned our trust and we feel he has the make up to continue on the legacy here at United”, said Joel Glazer.

The new manager will be expected to challenge for the Premier Division title as well as reach the final of the Champions Cup and FA Cup.

This afternoon, A. Pimp and newly hired Assistant Manager Valter Di Salvo had their first look at the squads as the 1st team squared off with the Reserve team in a bit of an inter-squad friendly. The Reserves got one over on the the 1st Squad with a 2-1 final. After the match A. Pimp had this to say...

"It was delightful to see the boys on the pitch after nice break and to get glimpse of what we have here. On a positive note, the reserves played an inspired match with crisp passing good aggression. Chris (Smalling) found net and looked good doing it while Richie De Laet and Oliver Norwood looked strong out there. We were pleased to see Darren Fletcher play well for the 1st team and Javier (Hernandez) net his first score in Red."

A. Pimp went on to mention his disappointment in general with the 1st Team and that they were bit too flat for his liking even for am inter-squad tie.

A. Pimp was also asked about Edwin van der Sar being in his final year under contract. He mentioned that they are leaving the door open for an extension but will also be prudent and continue the search for his eventual replacement.
nice goal! Chicharito!!!

United began the summer by participating in a Friendly Cup with 3 other teams. On July 17th, they met up with Chernomerets (Burgas) of the A PFG in Bulgaria. Rooney started strong scoring in the 6 an 15th minute. Javier “Chicharito” scored his 1st goal against competition for the Red Devils in the 70th minute. Aside from a fairly flat performance, which included 11 subs, Valter Di Salvo deemed the match a success. “We are pleased”, stated Di Salvo.

On July 18th, they followed up with a 4-1 defeat of Stade Malherbe Caen of Ligue 1/France. The night began with a solid score from Paul Schoels in the 21st minute. The rest of the tie then became a night in which the youngsters had the chance to shine. Federico Macheda scored twice and Bebe tallied 1 goal and assisted on one of the Macheda goals.
“Macheda turned in a solid performance and is destined to be a special player.”, said A. Pimp, “Bebe was strong too. The kids really stepped up and played well on foreign soil tonight.”

Brilliant presentation and very well written mate! Keep it up B)

United have called a press conference for later this afternoon to announce 5 new transfers. Stay Tuned...

Man United have spent July making a huge splash in the transfer market. 47 million (about a third has been deferred over the next 12 months) and 5 players later, the club has brought in quite the youth movement.

Announcing…

Kevin (M/AM C, 18yrs old) of Zaragoza FC in Spain was brought in for 9 mil and figures to challenge Carrick and Fletcher as a possible replacement for Owen Hargreaves.

Zakaria Labyad (MC, 17 yrs old) of PSV in Holland was brought in for 5.75 mil and some claim his is the next Wesley Sneijder. More importantly, however, he is of a very similar mold to Paul Scholes and figures to be his eventual replacement. Scholes has already agreed to begin tutoring the lad.

Rafael Toloi (DC, 19 yrs old) of Goias in Brazil was brought in for 10 mil and figures to be a central figure in replacing Rio Ferdinand one day.

Dennis Appiah (D R/C, 18 years old) of AS Monaco in France was brought in for 11.2 mil and figures to be a versatile back with more potential than Wes Brown and will provide good competition for Rafael down the road.

Romelu Lukaku (Striker, 17 yrs old) of Anderlecht in Belgium was brought in for 11 mil and will give the team options down the road should the team decide against extending Rooney or Berbatov. The Red Devils now have an embarrassment of riches at forward.

United finished off their summer undefeated with a 1-0 defeat of Roma this past weekend. Carrick cam on in the 79th minute and scored the only match of the goal at minute 85. A. Pimp spoke afterward about the summer and some of the players that stood out along with fielding questions about more delicate topicd

Press: Will you resign Edwin van der Sar?

Pimp: We would like to have Edwin back. I think he has another solid year or two in him. Yoo don't find replacements for guys like that very easily.

Press: You have transfer listed Michael Owen with little to no interest. Are you considering loan?

Pimp: We de have a bit of a log jam at forward now with all deserving of time. Rooney and Berbatov of course, but Hernandez, Macheda and Lukaku will contribute as well. Owen may be the odd man out. Loan in a posibility

Press: Paul Scholes continues to defy his age and continues to demand you keep him on the pitch with his outstanding play. How long can he hold up?

Pimp: We will be prudent with Scholes, especially early on. We are going to need his leadership and his prowess on the pitch. We will see to it that his minutes are watched.

Press: The Community Shield is coming up the weekend. Any predictions?

Pimp: The guys were a bit flat versus Roma so we will need to perform better than that if we wish to win.
Nice signings mate :D . Although they cost you a fair bit. When managing a big club, I often use most of my budget on one star player and buy a few prospects to make up the rest of the budget.

I like to do the same to buy one star player and few prospects.

I hear ya mate. My thoughts were to get Buffon at GK as a replacement for van derSar. He was injured for 6 months and rather than wait until the Jan window, I decided to grab a few of the young guys that interested me. United is aging in some areas and these should help greatly in the next year or two. I probably should have held off on maybe one to keep some extra cash around. I would like to part ways with a few players, but seeing how its a small window in the Demo and teams are poorer and/or not spending as much...getting rid of a few may prove more difficult than I imagine. Very cautious not to disrupt team harmony too much...
