Hannibal Mejbri (nicknamed: Le Stallion) the £9M gamble who could hit the jackpot.

The deal was completed before I arrived at United but it could save me £60+M if he can be patient and keep developing.

Hannibal Mejbri (nicknamed: Le Stallion) is a young French player who was bought by United for £9M from AS Monaco. This deal was agreed before I arrived so when the FM20 game starts, United actually have some good prospects even in the U18s squad.

Myself and Man United, might be very lucky if Le Stallion can stay injury free and keep on developing. He could save us a lot of money because the cost of a very good Deep Lying Playmaker who can also play as a great Advanced Playmaker, is huge!!...

I would estimate that buying such a player would cost you £60M or perhaps more depending on the players age and club.
His current stats are very impressive at the age of 20 years old.

He has moved up through the United youth teams and during my 1st season he was so impressive I gave him the chance to play in our last home game of the season. He scored and from that moment on, he was given the nickname Le Stallion.

As his game has developed, I can see that his bravery and tackling stats have stayed very low. That means he must be used as a creative force who is very calm and composed with excellent vision and passing stats.
So far, that means I can rely on him to score, create and assist in attacking situations but he will not necessarily do the dirty, tough, tackling work.

That said, I did try to ‘make him tough and more robust’ by sending him on a season-long loan to our partnership club Barnsley.
The young boy became a man in my eyes and I was very very impressed by his attitude and performances in a brutal championship league.

He even won some awards to take home. Twice in the team-of-the-week and a nice goal-of-the-month award as well.
He did pick up some injuries along the way but 27 games with goals and assists was a fantastic result for Barnsley and Le Stallion’s game really developed.

Upon his return I decided to give him more 1st team opportunities and he has played more games than ever before. I have used him in league, domestic cups and continental cups as well. As to be expected there were a few small injuries within the season but nothing to scare me.

The lad has done well and contributed to the team’s success.

Going into season 2023/24 I have a big decision to make.

His contract is until June 2025 and if frustrated or not given enough game time, I could risk losing him and for very little money.
The current crop of players within his position are big and equally talented. Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Eduardo Camavinga, Paul Pogba and Jude Bellingham. With Le Stallion included in the mix that would give me 6 players who all want playing time.

I imagine that a season-long loan being the only option. However, not to Barnsley or a lower ranked team. I believe a team within the premier league could be the answer or maybe La Liga.

If you can get him for your team, do it !!!
