I understand that getting FM'd happens in real life as well. A couple of weeks ago City got FM'd when they lost against Southampton. But how many times does this happen in real life? In FM i feel I get FM'd at least 4-5 times pr season. In my opinion that's to much.
A situation I always get FM'd is when I need a win on the last day of the season to clinch the title. It has happened to me three times in the save game I play now and it happened to me several times i FM19 aswell. When you go in to the last day of the season and you know how it will end (in heartbreak and tears) it just ruins the game for me. These things can happen, but not every time. Does anyone know if this particular situation is programed in to the game?
Yeah I get you on that. It seems to happen far more on fm than in real life to teams, although I don't know if that is because a season of irl football takes 8-9 months whereas an fm save could be done in a few days so whereas irl you might forget certain games in an fm save your less likely to forget as there likely to have happened more recently but I'm not quite sure. Could be that maybe?
On the topic of being fm'd and being screwed by the game I don't know if there is a specific coding in the game. Sometimes it does seem to coincidental but I don't really know. I had one where I had to win the last 3 games to win the league, already relegated Brentford away, Wolves away and Bournemouth at home on the final day. If your like me, you know I beat Wolves and Bournemouth quite easily, losing 1-0 to Brentford to a last minute counter, there only clear cut chance of the game as well. However, there can be many reasons for this happening. For the last few minutes I went very attacking to try and win the game, so I left myself open to a counter from them, obviously leading to there goal. There's also a question on your players mental attributes. If it keeps happening it could well be they have poor attributes to deal with those situations, leading to them always bottling it because they just aren't cut up to deal with such situations. Have no idea which team you are or what players you have but could be an idea.
Although, saying all that, it really wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of coding to do this or similar. Not sure if it would be coded in a way to make it far more difficult, a little more difficult, practically impossible or not at all but wouldn't surprise me if I'm honest.
I completely get why this might really annoy you and kinda ruin the game for you. Can be so frustrating when it isn't going well but you have no idea at all how to fix it
