i have the free 6 month demo DL'ed but wondered if you would be buying your FM 2011 as a DL or disk version.
also how much to pay? tried looking on steam but cant see anything, went into game yesterday and they are offering chance to pre buy the DL version for £27.99

i have always bought myself a physical copy. And they are often cheaper. I ordered mine from www.zavvi.com as it was cheapest for me this time around. its only 24quid or 25 i think for me with shipping. but as ur in UK u get free shipment.
U will often get the physical copy 1 day before or on the release day. But obviously if u have a bit of extra cash and want it to be DL instead then go for DL as there is no difference in it.

I'm in the camp of wanting a physical copy, not overly impressed with steam, plus as i'm on a £15 a month 5gb data mobile bb deal(no phoneline) it would eat into my allowance.

It depends whether you have Steam installed. If you do, it is a good idea to install FM onto Steam, but if you don't, it takes up too much memory for only playing one game on.

where would i get the update patches from if i just play it off of the disc???......... i normally get the updates automatically from steam but if i just use the disc where will i get them from???

We always have such downloads available here (on this site). In fact for this season, it is my intention to have every damn file available here from all around the scene, as long as it's worth downloading.
And usually there should be 2-3 download mirrors for each download (at least the larger files over 1MB).

yh i install it on steam.
At present i run fm2010 and the demo off steam although with fm2010 i bought the disk from game and i have had no problems with steam so i think ill be getting a direct download on steam this time around.
