Hi all,

I have been looking for a new laptop for FM23, with a max budget of 550.

I play in 2D, and would like to be able to run saves at a good, fast speed with a good amount of leagues to be able to do journeyman saves (major European leagues plus 1/2 obscure European leagues for smaller clubs).

I’ve looked through all of the suggested specs for fm on the various blogs, and then come across the laptop below for what seems a price that is too good to be true? Am I missing something here and should I avoid this?

If I should avoid it, could anyone make a recommendation for a good laptop in my price range? Thanks. (Based in UK)
Vivobook X1500EA-BQ2182W should definitely run the game smoothly in 2D.

It has a fast hard drive of nvme type (faster than regular ssd), sufficient ram (8gb) and decent cpu (i5 11th gen) to be running win11.

It doesn't come with a dedicated vga but integrated graphics should do fine for the most part; just don't expect to run 3d match in high detail (nor play 4k vids smoothly).

There are a couple of downsides judging from the reviews though. The laptop chassis feels cheap, the keyboard will likely annoy you, while the battery is non-replaceable.

All in all, the price for the specs is good enough and the laptop should do what you expect from it.

Other brands to look at for budget options: Lenovo, Dell, MSI, Acer, Dynabook (ex-Toshiba)
Thanks for the reply - that's really helpful.

I've been looking at a few other options and how would something like this compare?

Would it be worth the extra £100? I am more than happy playing in 2D so I think the graphics being internal will be fine. It is an upgrade on the standard/internal graphics I am currently using and 2D runs fine.

I don't play any other games on my laptop. I just want to be able to run FM saves with a good number of leagues (10-20) across 5/6 countries and it run at a good speed (3.5-5 stars).
No, I don't think it's worth the extra 100.

If you want to pay more than the Asus laptop, maybe look for increased RAM at least; 12 or 16 GB. That'd make more difference than i5 v i7 as with 8 GB you're on the edge of sufficient memory for multitasking.

Another aspect to check for would be a dedicated vga (instead of an integrated one). That and more RAM are usually worth the extra funds.
Hi,

Have you had a look at Argos via Ebay for reconditioned models? I purchased a ex display Medion gaming laptop throught argos outlet ebay store. Intel i5 8 gb RAM and Nvidea gforce for £350.
It has served me well and has the RAM and graphics required. Also came with 18 month warrenty.
Worth a look if saving £'s.
