King Yengi

24 February 2024

Adelaide United's new striker Tete Yengi has continued his incredible return to the A-League with five goals against Western Sydney at Coopers Stadium this evening.

The 23 year old target forward played nine fruitless games with the Newcastle Jets in 2021 but his second coming in the league has been nothing short of brilliant, with ten goals in seven appearances, enough to be sixth in the Golden Boot race after two months.

The younger brother of ex-Red and Wanderer Kusini Yengi, Tete's Ipswich Town venture never took off and after loan spells in Finland and the Football League, he appears to have found a rhythm at Coopers Stadium.

"After a dominant February, we needed to continue getting wins to challenge for the premiership as well as giving ourselves a ticket to the A-League semi finals. Our backline had solidifed a little while our attackers were firing on all cylinders so we were looking to keep things rolling."

Manager's Comments
"Our unbeaten streak continues albeit with a hiccup against Western United, the only thing between us and a seven game winning run. We've not only hit first but even have a five point gap back to second, so it's our premiership to lose."

Alagich pens four-year deal

22 March 2024

Adelaide United are thrilled to announce that Ethan Alagich has signed a four-year contract extension that will take his deal through to the end of the 2027/28 season.

The 19 year old midfielder has become an extremely valuable cog in midfield with seven assists and four goals from seventeen appearances in the A-League. An Adelaide native, he's been one of the best proponents of the club's local, youth-first philosophy.

Ethan will continue to follow in the footsteps of his father Richie who played 89 games for the club from 2003 to 2008. The younger Alagich has now recorded 39 appearances and will no doubt hope to surpass his dad in the coming seasons.

The club has also secured scholarship extensions for Giuseppe Bovalina, Panagiotis Kikianis and Bailey O'Neil.
