These are some of the most annoying things about football manager this year ive found!
After about four seasons or less in control of a club from one of the main leagues such as Spain/ Italy/ England/ France/ Germany/ Holland and Portugal, providing you have a little bit of money at the start or players to sell in order to raise cash you can find your club miles ahead from the rest quite easily taking away the longevity of your current save file.
I have also found that the regens coming into the game can not match up to the standard of the players retiring quick enough. Although yes you will find a number of new wonderkids being created there is far to less in order to populate all of the top clubs and in many casses they will just all end up at your club as it is far too easy to spot the best ones before they can go elsewhere meaning the other top clubs get left behind with inferior players to your club.
In order to prevent these things I have used the FMRTE in a number of ways to level the playing field in the game and ensure that even in my 15th season of play all the leagues are still as competitive as at the beginning and that the youth players coming through are able to replace the likes of cristiano ronaldo and lionel messi when they retire
Below are a list of steps you can have a look at and possibly implement to your save game in the way you want in order to possibly make you challenge harder or if your career has become too easy allow the other top clubs on your game to quickly catch up and make your save game more challenging and exciting again :]
To be most realistic as possible I advise ONLY MAKING THESE CHANGES IF YOU ARE MANAGING A TEAM IN THE TOP 7 NATIONS I have mentioned above, otherwise a league which could never become the strongest in real life might happen in your game. Also if you are not a team in these nations it would not benefit your game in any way.
These changes below should be made to all the top 7 leagues, it also helps if you have set these 7 leagues to playable as this will generate more things keeping the leagues more successfully active!
1 : First of all I DON'T EDIT in any way the club I have chosen to manage, any changes to my club will be done through hard work playing the game :] NO reputation changes should be made!
2 : Secondly no changes AT ALL should be made to players or staff attributes, these should be left to grow/change as the game intended them to.
3 : Make the top 7 leagues of reputation between ( 180 - 200 ) as you believe they should be and all other on the game below ( 130 ). Cup reputations is not important.
Therefore all the better players will gradually migrate into the top leagues even weaker teams, ensuring good players spread throughout so that your team is never beating lower half teams score lines of 8-0 and 12-1 for example. This will mean the league will always remain competitive.
4 : Using the mass edit button, one league at a time ( just the top 7 ), set CORPORATE/TRAINING/YOUTH FACILITIES, YOUTH ACADEMY/RECRUITMENT and MORALE to 20.
This will ensure that their is always good youth players around and lower teams will not be left behind as they will train and grow there own players then selling them to bigger clubs to raise money for more players. Bigger clubs will also be able to gradually replace their star players more realistically than the game does at the moment.
5 : Using the mass edit button make sure that every team in the top leagues have at least a reputation of ( 7500 ), but don't accidently set every team to that reputation, only the teams below ( 7500 ) should be set to ( 7500 ) . Also set the TOP 3 teams reputation in each of the 7 top leagues to ( 9999 ).
These changes will mean that the clubs increased reputations will allow them to bring in better players that their teams need. Also the best teams with reputation of ( 9999 ) will be able to actually sign the best players on the game that they can sign in real life in order to compete with the best and keep in touching distance of your team if you become the best team on the game. All the clubs below ( 9999 ) will then be able to fight in order to take their reputations up to the top elite as well.
6 : Using the mass edit button again, set the top 3 teams of reputation ( 9999 ) to
BALANCE 300,000,000 ! TRANSFER BUDGET/REMAINING 100,000,000 ! WAGE BUDGET 3,000,000 and SUGAR DADDY to FOREGROUND .
These top clubs will now have the financial power in order to remain and stay at the level they are at, and get better providing a very competitive league with a different winner every year.
7 : Finally using the mass edit button, now set the rest of the teams in each league to have at least 100,000,000 BALANCE and 50,000,000 TRANSFER BUDGET/REMAINING, WAGE BUDGET 1,000,000 and SUGAR DADDY to BACKGROUND.
These clubs will now be able to add depth to their teams and clear out unneeded players and add the odd star player in order to challenge for greater places in the league and provide good opposition for the very best teams! This system has been tested and played through many game saves with many teams over many leagues over the past few months and works perfectly throughout 15 seasons at least !!!
