I'd advice against Doumbia, especially for such price. Go for that young French called Bakambu... or even better Belfodil who's almost as good as Babacar. Imagine Babacar + Belfodil up front, OMG beastly strike force :D

For the wings, I'd also suggest snatching Obinna on the cheap... it may seem he's not good enough but trust me he'll do wonders scoring loads as well ;)
I'd advise checking out Nuri Sahin and Kevin Gameiro
Thanks guys,

I hear what your saying about Obinna, Stats really poor apart from speed but if he is anything like 'Oskarsson' from championship manager 4 or 'Tonton zola mokouko' then stats mean nothing and the goals will come.
I believe RedArmy should be answering this about Obinna... I'd risk saying "yes" though. He got decent key stats for that position and also got an eye for goal. Give him a chance ;)
Don't buy Dumbia! I've had him once when managing Ivory Coast... He doesn't worth the transfer money nore such wage. He scored few crucial goals for me but performed a lot worse than I expected in overall. in my opinion he's for lower level than EPL plus he got some injuries...
Thanks Omar,

Unfortunately i did go for Seydou Doumbia, I paid £10m for him and managed to knock him down to £40k p/s wages.

I have never had him before on any of my saves and on one of my saves he signed for Stuttgart in 3rd season and there after was a 30 goal a season 'complete forward' in the bundeslega. So i hope he can hit 20-25 in england.

So far so good, I am in April of second season whith Doumbia coming in january,. I am cautious but no problems so far, He came back off international (african nations) begin of feb and has scored 5 goals in 5 games (including a last minute equaliser against liverpool at anfield)

I have changed from a 4-4-1 i played in the first season to a 4-4-2 with Doumbia as a 'complete foward' and partner Vela who is 'advanced forward', I have managed to climb up the table so i will monitor the progress until the end of the second season.

I did check out Belfodil and Bakambu but not quite the attributes i want at present but am monitoring them on the shortlist. I did however managed to secure Khouma Babacar on loan from fiorentina and mattia destro on loan from inter who look great back ups as i am still in FA cup and Champions league.

Hope doumbia proves me wrong and plays well for you... Didn't wont to disappoint you, he's younger in your savegame and you are going to train him as you like (i couldn't because i was national manager). Of course he would also be quite useful as a tutor...
Perhaps I'm a bit late, but u could have signed Paulo Henrique/Javier Pastore to replace Fabregas. And they don't demand much money as well. Palermo is a bit greedy when u try to sign Pastore, but Paulo is an easy buy from Santos(I got Pastore for 25M and Paulo for 15M). Also they don't ask for much(in fact both for the salary of 1 Fabregas :P). Also Hummels is better than Otamendi. Serge Aurier in right back is a star from 2nd-3rd year onwards. Fabio Coantrao of Portugal is a cheap good player, you can play him both left wing and left back. Ljajic of Fiorentina is pretty good at right midfield.
Off topic : Rodwell is ok but I need a good tutor for him :/ Any suggestions ?
Thanks Raziel for the comment,

I did acually try Poalo Henrique but it was to late in the second season when cesc fabregas has gone and santos want £30(ish) for him and £120l p/w wages. - of course i decined this as i like to be a manager who wants players and staff with resonable wages.

In actaul fact i am now in 3rd season and managed to get David Alabe from FC bayern for £5m and £25k p/w contract and i tell you what, he is performing very well in MC for me. A

im very pleased to have rodwell, alaba, wilshire, sanchez and nasri in my midfield

:)
Alaba is a good choice, but you're lacking strength and defensive traits in your midfield now. Only Rodwell is a defensive minded player from the ones mentioned in your last post. I suppose you still have Cabaye and Diaby?
Yeah i know what your saying stam, i have already thought of that and am looking at Moussa Sissoko from Toulouse.

Since last comms though i have now just finished second season and had a bad league season finishing 6th in the league but somehow managed to win the champions league with a 2-1 win over athletico madrid. (so that i assume kept me employed with Mr Peter Hill-Wood and Arsenal FC.)

I am going to start my 3rd season today and have decided im going to take a little risk and strengthen defensive options as i am seeping too many goals, and also to spend a little more on the midfield in the form of defensive minded CM as you are right in saying not very defensive in centre of the pitch so win me the ball. I am happy with the signing of 19 yr old David Alaba though.

Defence currently and what rating i have gave them on the season gone (out of 5*)
DR - Seb Corchia - ****
DC - Laurent Koscielny - ***
DC - Thomas Vermaelen - *****
DL - Gael Clichy - ****

Stoke City have been relegated from the EPL in season 2 so i have managed to secire a £6.5m deal for DC Ryan Shawcross, I dont want to replace Laurent Koscielny as he has score some good goals but feel they on par with each other and i will rotate them to monitor Shawcross's adaptability in the team.

For the midfield i am going to make an enquirey to Toulouse for MC/DM Moussa Sissoko although i am expectin go to pay a little over the odds but feel it may be rewarding if i can get back into the top 4, i was also looking at Kwadeo Asamoah from Udinese but have cooled my interest as Shaktar Donestk have bid £16.5m for him and also i have brought in David Alaba who is a simular player but more determined.

I am really looking forward to my 3rd season with Arsenal

1st Season with Fabregas and V.Persie - Premier League Winners, FA Cup runner up and Champions league Quarter finals

2nd season without Feb and vp - 6th in PL, Champions league winners, FA Cup runners up again.

3rd season - hope to get back in the top 4 of premier league and also at least semis of champions league........
