CTFD PortoGaia, Porto, Porgual

Seven years. He remembered the day that he signed his first contract as Physio, when Mourinho took a chance on him, and it pulled off, Thiago being prominent in the Champions League winning squad. After that, he never looked back, managers changed and players came and went, but Thiago remained. He became experienced in tactics, and nurtured his knowledge in the club, meaning he became a good adviser to many coaches.

Now, he watched as another manager joined. It was a little different this time, though, as the new boss was André Villas-Boas. Thiago already knew him and was actually very good friends with him, they used to speak a lot when Mourinho in charge, André being his Assistant Manager at the time.

Thiago was watching the squad train as André arrived, only his second day on the job. He walked with a hint of urgency. He reached Thiago and grinned. "Thiago, I have considered my options, and, out of everyone at the club, you have the most knowledge and, I believe you are loyal, therefor, I would like to offer you possession of Assistant Head-Coach."

Thiago hesitated, grinning. "Really?" André nodded his head, returning the smile. "Of course, I want to do as much as I can for the club! Thanks." André shook his head. "No worries. You are doing this for me, not vice versa. Remember that."

Thiago looked over at the pitch, with an eyebrow raised. He looked at the squad, the team was practicing corners. He could see a spot in the box where there was a distinct lack of defense, yet every time, nobody exploited it. André glanced at it. "Go ahead." He said, clearly seeing Thiago's desire to correct the problem.

Thiago stepped forward, calling over Falcao. "Radamel. You see that gap in the defense?" He asked the forward, who replied with a nod. "Next time they cross goes there, dive in to it and get your head on it." He patted Falcao's back. "I can do that." The Colombian grinned and ran forward.

Falcao called for the ball as the corner taker stepped up, the ball was hit, it flew past a Porto players head and in to the gap, as Thiago expected. Sure enough, Falcao lunged forward, a second before hitting the floor his head perfectly met with the ball to propel it forward, a good meter away from the keeper in to the bottom right of the net.

Thiago smiled, turning to the manager. "You see." He walked back to the side of the pitch. "Simple things like that can win games. You made the right decision picking me. I'll pick that up every time." André merely looked back at the pitch to see almost a replica of the last goal, Falcao again planting a diving header in the back of the net.

"Not bad. Not bad at all."
"Not bad. Not bad at all" ;)

O Cavalo Dourado, Lisbon, Porgual

Thiago walked in to the pub and glanced around, there were few inconspicous patrons as it was quite early in the day, two slightly drunk men sat watching the television where a Sporting game was on replay. Thiago did not care for Sporting Lisbon as in the past they had rivaled Porto for the top spot.

He had traveled here from Porto as André Villas-Boas had asked to see him, and sure enough, in the corner of the room a distant André was sat, a glass of water in his hand and a look of excitement in his eyes.

"Why are we here, André?" Thiago asked, attracting his attention. "Sit, sit." André told him in a flustered manner, gesturing to the seat opposite him. "Look, I know you will not like it, but, I have resigned, I sub-" André began before being cut off by Thiago. "You what? Why? We have done so well this season!"

The two men watching the game looked over. Thiago grimaced. Surely they would recognize André. But no, they looked away. Perhaps their drunkenness blurred their vision so much that they could not ever recognize the Porto manager.

"Let me explain. I was going to stay, but, I got a job offer. Chelsea." Thiago blinked. "Really? The Premier League. Just like Mourinho! Congratulations." André nodded, smiling. "Thank you, but, I did not call you all the way here just to discuss that. Tomorrow I will be announced Chelsea manager and I'd like to prepare for the season as soon as possible, and I need an assistant manager."

Thiago hesitated. "I'd love to, but you know Porto is my home. Leaving it now would feel wrong." André frowned. "This is not an opportunity you could pass up, working in the best league in the world, with one of the best English teams! You can always return to Porto if it does not work out, trust me, they would take you back with open arms."

He was not sure about it, but Thiago shrugged. "If you are sure." He nodded. "I will do it."

André nodded back. "Fantastic. I have a plane booked for today, and I got another ticket, just in case. I am glad I had now. We can discuss our plans on the way." They stood and continued talking on the way out, André discussing various transfer targets he planned to bit on at the blues.
Brilliant as always, please keep this going :D

Cobham Training Centre, Surrey, England

André Villas-Boas stood, a frown etched upon his face. Rain pounded his coat like hail and it seemed it would not stop soon, dark clouds lying over the Chelsea training ground. Thiago and Roberto Di Matteo, another assistant to André, stood either side of him, observing the squad. None of the three had spoken a word since the defeat.

Gareth McAuley had taken the ball and wheeled it in to the bottom left of the box in the closing ten minutes to put West Brom ahead, and the lead would remain intact until the end. This had been a grim loss, as André's job had been on the edge for weeks, and now, it seemed, he was on the verge of being sacked.

A yell came from behind the three, they turned to see a familiar face. It was Roman Abramovic standing on the porch of one of the training halls. He called André and his assistants over, but not in the most cheerful mood. Thiago looked towards his Portuguese affiliate, knowing that the end was nigh.

"André." Abramovic said as the trio approached, leaning against the side of the porch and looking at the manager with a hint of pity. "I am sorry, but, you know what is coming. I am afraid your results in the league have been substandard. This has not been the first time I have told you this, so, it is time I found someone else."

André merely nodded, staring blankly in to the muddy fields ahead. Abramovic patted him on the back. "I am sorry, but football is a business. Just because you're having a rough patch does not mean I can give you another chance. It is harsh."

The Russian put out a hand and André shook it before turning his back and walking off towards his car. Abramovic watched him leave and turned to the others, Thiago was about to follow him, but Abramovic stopped him. "Thiago, wait, I have a proposition." He smiled slyly. "I want you two to manage the club, as caretakers, until I find a suitable replacement at the end of the season."

Di Matteo instantly grinned. "That would be fantastic!" The Italian ex-player patted Thiago on the back, but his Mexican colleague did not have the same look of joy that he did. "I am sorry, Roman." Thiago replied before turning his back. "I have a choice, and, I am afraid this is not right." With that, he walked away, leaving the chairman bermused on the spot.

Abramovic turned to Di Matteo. "I was hoping he stayed. He would have been an asset. Oh well, I am sure you will do just fine alone." Di Matteo nodded, smiling, before taking a slow jog back to the training pitch and alerting the squad of the two departures.
Great. I really like AVB as a manager so it's brilliant seeing good old Thiago sticking with his friend. Let's see where he'll go next.
When I first started reading I thought this was a little cheesy. However, the further I read into it, it was far from. In fact, it is brilliant and I really enjoyed it. If you keep this up you might just have yourself one of the best stories I've read on FM Scout.

Do you think Tiago will become manager at the end of the season?

You can only guess. Also, yep, I like trying to form a friendship with real life people, even though Thiago's a fictional character.
This is going well so far, I enjoy the style of writing. Now to see what the future has for Thiago :D Oh and nice signature ;)
Can't wait to see how this will turn out! I'll be following, great writing style too!
I just want to get in your sig :P
