Cantona recruits De Sciglio

The first arrival for Éric Cantona's reign is surprisingly not a permanent one, and probably not one that would be first on the team sheet for many. Mattia De Sciglio has been hailed as part of a bright future in fullbacks for Italy who while predominantly right-footed, can deputise either flank just like Davide Santon. His wage will be paid in full by Manchester United until the end of the season.

Considered good enough now to be awarded the #2 shirt at AC Milan that greats like Tassotti and Cafu wore, De Sciglio has enjoyed a rapid progression into one of the top talents in Italy. He's described as quick and versatile- and standing at 6 feet tall, he is certainly not as small as most of the fullbacks already at Manchester United. Since he is also capable of playing at centre-back, it is assumed that Cantona brought him in to cover what is already a deep, quality defence at Manchester United.

"De Sciglio can be one of the best full-backs in the world one day. If there is a chance that we can begin or be a part of that journey, then we will look to make the deal permanent. As a young player he is hungry to succeed, and that it the sort of attitude we want," said Cantona on the matter.

Cantona banks on duo as United build funds

Éric Cantona continues his forays into the market by banking more profit on Ferguson's previous signings. Anderson (right) and Ashley Young (left) are set to complete moves to Paris-Saint Germain and Chelsea, respectively. Both are subject to medicals but almost entirely confirmed by each party. Young joined Manchester United only last year from Aston Villa for a fee rumouredly around £16-18 million but was unable to make the desired impact as United surrendered the trophy to the Skyblues. Anderson on the other hand, was signed in 2007 from FC Porto for an undisclosed fee, but has struggled of late to fulfill the potential that won him a Golden Ball at the U-17 World Championship in 2005.

In spite of them being key players, it is expected that there will generally be a good feeling about them leaving the camp, perhaps Anderson moreso than Young. Fans will also be delighted to see Manchester United bank what is reportedly a fee of £35 million (22 Young, 13 Anderson) for the two players and will look forward to seeing that being re-invested in the club.

Éric prioritises the future

Four names have sprung into the pages today after the club announced signings that were seemingly conducted in hushed conditions. Manchester United have raided Germany, Holland, Italy and France for very young and promising players to bolster their own youth credentials and secure their future. It is unlikely that this will be the only business that Manchester conduct in the transfer market- after raking in upwards of £60 million from the sales of first team players, while these youngsters reportedly only cost Cantona £5 million in total.

Neal Maupay (top left), was signed from OGC Nice in France after impressing Cantona's informants with his determination and commitment, during one of his visits to France. The clinical attacker is French of Argentine descent, and will be looking to carry on his exciting football education with Manchester United for the forseeable future.

Hatchim Mastour (top right), is something of a hidden gem- discovered and snapped up by European Giants: A.C. Milan after thoroughly assessing his potential. Described as a fantastically technical player, creative and hard-working, Cantona was eager to recruit him to the Red Devils youth set-up to try and harness that ability.

Maximilian Meyer (bottom left), has already been tipped as a future star for Germany, and is arguably one of the more well-known in the group, having already been prolific for Gemany's youth teams. Technically gifted, creative and agile, fans may be hoping that he plays as well as his fantastic name.

Which brings as to the final of the four, Zakaria Bakkali- the Belgian player of Morrocan descent. His nationalities alone typify outstanding youthful talents and promise, but the key here is whether he will be able to fulfill it at Manchester United under the guidance of Éric Cantona. Scoring 16 goals in 19 youth appearances for his favoured Belgium, he is part of that buzzing new wave of exciting Belgian talents. No one will argue if he lights up the Theatre of Dreams in a similar fashion to Eden Hazard in future.

Three more deals finalised

Éric Cantona's reign continues by finally reeling in some names worth talking about. Having so far only signed under 17s to the squad, fans will have been up in arms wondering where the proper signings were. It appears that Éric, since joining in mid-July has been working hard on deals and managed to snag some very talented players for less flambouyant fees than many would think.

Tottenham Hotspur's tenacious defensive midfielder, Sandro

Sandro Raneiri is the first signing on this list, having been picked up from Brazil for a meagre sum £8 million for Spurs- his energetic performances have convinced Cantona to dole out twice that fee, £16 million, to acquire his services.

"Sandro is a very talented player. Of course he is Brazilian, and he comes with the technical merit and quality that we like in a player, but more importantly he is a player that can do a job very well in midfield, whether providing support and covering every blade of grass, or sitting in front of our defence and breaking up play. I think he can be the best Defensive Midfielder in the world." Cantona stated.

"I am proud, to be a part of the History of Manchester United. I am happy to have chance, to make history for Manchester United. It was an opportunity that I could not refuse." Sandro added.

Sandro will reportedly be on a five-year contract numbering £90,000 per week.

Roma's skillful forward, Erik lamela

Lamela is signing number two for Eric Cantona, who reportedly cost a little heavier than Sandro at £18 million but word by mouth and paper suggests that this fee is something of a coup for the talented wing-forward.

"It was interesting because, Lamela was one of a group of targets we had after considering the departure of Nani and Young. There were targets that were unavailable, but Erik was always very high on that list. He will be a fantastic player, as long as he works hard. He has the physique to play in the Premier League." said Cantona.

"Para mí, una medida de este tipo es un sueño. Estoy viviendo un sueño. Manchester United es uno de los clubes más grandes del mundo, y me siento honrado de tener la oportunidad de vestir la camiseta. Cantona me convenció sobre el proyecto de lo que está tratando de lograr aquí. Vine porque quiero ser parte de ella. Me gustaría dar las gracias a todos los fans de Roma para mí recibiendo. Sin ellos, nunca tendría la oportunidad." Lamela added.

Lamela will reportedly be on a five-year contract numbering £60,000 per week.

Newcastle's flamboyant midfielder, Hatem Ben Arfa

Ben Arfa was part of a very talented Newcastle side that managed an impressive 5th place finish above Champions League winners, Chelsea. His skillful, direct running pleased the fans at Toon and may undoubtedly please the Red Devils fans, for a measely rumoured price of £13 million.

"Hatem will be a very important signing for us, of that I am sure. He is a gifted player with the ball and he has already had time in the Premier League to adapt. He is 25 now, so it was important to sign him when he is hitting his peak years for a winger. I believe he can make a fantastic impact at the club, and I look forward to seeing him play." said Cantona.

"I wanted to show the world what I am capable of. Manchester United give me that chance, and I am very grateful. I will wear the badge with pride. I originally did not really intend to leave Newcastle, but when a club like Manchester shows interest, I could not turn it down. I had other offers, Chelsea- Arsenal and Manchester City. But in the end I believe I made the right choice." Ben Arfa added.

Hatem Ben Arfa will reportedly be on a four-year contract numbering £60,000 per week.
