ACCRINGTON STANLEY

A New Era

Accrington Stanley are currently a club in a bit of a decline, on the back of a few season's ago when they managed to climb in to the play off spots for league one, since then they have been on the brink of administration. However they have recently managed with a large amount of help from the fans to get themselves into a stable position.

After the Departure of John Coleman, the club have struggled to compete in league two, It is my aim to pick them up off there knee's and push them as far as I can.
What about them?
After a brief welcome from the Clubs chairman Peter Marsden,
I am setting about my work with a small budget of £10,000 to work with I am going to be mainly targeting free agents and maybe a few loans

hopefully I can have a little cup run to generate some much needed funds for the club.
I won't be hiring any additional staff as I don't believe I have enough resources to spare.

As things are at present I will be playing 5 at the back and 3 in midfield whilst trying to keep the ball as much as possible in hope that i can gain alot of draws whilst managing to get the odd 3 points here and there.

James Beatie will be a huge player for us along with on loan goalkeeper Paul Rachubka.
Good luckmate
God I hope Rachubka isn't as bad as he is in real life, good luck, I recently did an Accrington story :)
Good Luck roblaw :) Try to add pics etc to brighten it up!

Winnard backs new man Lawrence

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/821/rxc3.jpg/

Winnard has been seen to be backing new boss Lawrence,

When speaking to SkySports about shock appointment of Unknown Manager Lawrence this is what he had to say

So he has no history in management, he has the desire to be great and I applaud him for landing the job he described as his dream job. I speak for all the players when I say We at Accrington believe Lawrence is the right man to take this club forward.

There are many manager that haven't kicked a ball before becoming a manager to name just one. There is Carlos Alberto Parreira. He even managed to win a world cup!

Lawrence won't be remember for what he hasn't done! He'll be remembered for what he does at STANLEY!

He has the full support of all the Players!

Pre Season Review

We started off badly with a 4-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest things got slightly better, When we faced Burnley as they only managed to put two past us needless to say I was quite pleased as we went into half time at 0-0 against Burnley although I never thought about going for the win and was still not too downhearted come full time knowing they are 2 divisions above us. I was pleased when we were able to face someone from our own league and managed a nice 2-1 win due to goals from new signing Bignall & winger Chipendale. It left me feeling optimistic about our chances in the league this season even if it was only off the back of one game. However our best moment was yet to come as we played Blackburn Rovers at home a match I am delighted to say ended 0-0 I thought our team performed well. Which I believe shows in the score line especially when they had started their first team.

Transfers

Going completely against what I intended to do I have brought in 2 strikers & 1 goalkeeper. Whilst free transferring 2 players on the back of some poor performances however this has left me over my wage budget so I am expecting to ship a few more players out of the club in hope of easing this burden and avoiding going into debt and the possibility of administration

Nicholas Bignall.

I believe he will be an excellent addition to the squad being a good enough player to be in league one already is a huge boost of Accrington I just hope he manages to score the vital goals when I need him too.

Jon Stewart

Although he is just 23 and won't develop much with us, I intend to use him as my first team goalkeeper this season as he already has better choice than either Paul who has just had his loan terminated or Ian who I am hoping to have leave the club shortly.

Wes Fletcher

I am hoping that with him partnering bignall upfront they will both manage to keep me up on goals scored alone largely due to them being fairly quick. With him coming for a championship club and on a free transfer I can only see this as a huge plus for Accrington although it is a pain about his wages even if I can only keep him for my first season I will be happy.
