When the Advisor gives backroom pre-match advice, my Ass. Mgr always agrees with it, apart from the suggested tactics such as closing down or marking a particular player. Without exception he always disagrees in this area of advice. How is the Advisor chosen ? Can I change him to another of the coaches ? I'd like to see if this makes any difference.

I dont think you can, i would normally stick with the person who has the highest knowledge in the chose topic.
for example if one coach is good in squad management and better than your assistant manager at it. i would stick with him even if you A.M disagres
