United's Premier Division defense began against Wolves and Wigan. I would at least be eased into the big games, so I remained calm.
August ended with some silverware, with Manchester United beating rich-bags Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup. My second cup win in my first month in-charge! Who would've predicted that?

September gave us three tough matches to begin with. Tottenham were a difficult team, Valencia managed to avoid defeat at home in the Champions Cup, but we eased past Chelsea in the league. Things were looking good after another victory over relegation-threatened Blackburn.

The best part of this month was training with the youngsters before our League Cup match against QPR. Some of them were a part of the team that were comfortable 4-0 winners.
