The susie real names fix V3 is now available for download.

The Susie Real Names for Clubs, Competitions and Awards Fix does what it says on the tin. It includes real-life names for awards, competitions and clubs and fixes the issue with the German national team not calling up real players.

This version contains additional dbc and edt files which further enhance this update, fixing issues such as short names replacing nicknames and the 3 letter code used for competitions. Note that the new dbc and edt files will not take effect until a new game is started, as opposed to lnc files which can be changed after starting a new game.

Click the download button above to get the compressed download, go to:
  • (for PCs) ...Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\football manager 2012\data\db\1200 and 1220
  • (for Macs) USERNAME \ Library \ Application Support \ Steam \ SteamApps \ Common \ Football Manager 2012 \ Data \ db \ 1200 and 1220

Remove the existing dbc, edt and lnc folders in the path displayed above which apply to your installation method before replacing them with the dbc, edt and lnc folders you downloaded from the link.
A new game is not necessary for the lnc files to take effect, but you will have to close FM12 if it is running. The edt and dbc files will only take effect when you start a new game.

This file now also includes real-life media and journalists, with 23 media files added which encompass all major footballing nations and several others. These media files need you to start a new game to appear in the game, unfortunately.

To add the real life media go to Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2012. Open the "editor data" file, if this file doesn't exist then create it. Go back to your downloaded file and open the folder called "media files". Copy the 23 files into the editor data folder.

Note that some of the removed files in these 3 folders will be re-installed automatically each time Steam patches the game. I recommend keeping the downloaded file elsewhere on your hard disk so when this happens, you can just remove the re-installed folders and place the ones from this file back where they belong.

Ok, tried all the folders/files. Still no luck w/ the Germany and Japan senior teams.

Hmm, well, my only guess is that the CPU coaches have a pre-determined roster X amount of days before the actual official selection. My save file is 3 days before the WC selection date and Germany and Japan still have fake players after the WC selection.

The file definitely fixes the U21 squad (real life players on those squads), but still no luck w/ Germany seniors(unless I'm not doing completely right. I'm only doing the lnc files).

Download has been updated to include real life media and journalists but you will have to start a new game for the changes to take effect. Also check you have replaced the original FM12 files that were automatically installed with the 12.2 patch as mentioned in the comment below.

You won't notice the change until the manager has to announce a squad for an international fixture.

Also since the patch make sure you replace the files for the the new db folder too. Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\football manager 2012\data\db\1220

It fixed the U21 and U19 Germany squads, but not the senior team.

I was wondering, does it work with the new patch 12.1?

When I download the files (on Mac), the .Inc files convert as documents. I think this is why the real competition names don't work on my computer. Any advice on what I am doing wrong?

@ruznach:
Did you do that step?

Hi. just downloaded this pack but i cant get it to work.

The lnc files are the major part of the download, changing comp, club and award names. The other files change some minor stuff, one being the 3 letter code you see for competitions (ECC - Champions league etc). Another issue is when changing changing a clubs short name using a lnc file it causes the clubs nickname to disappear, one of the edt or dbc files fixes this issue.

"A new game is not necessary for the lnc files to take effect, but you will have to close FM12 if it is running. The edt and dbc files will only take effect when you start a new game."

It give me another doubt: What is the changes presents in lnc files and what is the changes in edt and dbc files? In practice, what I will not see changed in my saved game?

works with saved games?
EDITED: Ok, I see the answer... "A new game is not necessary for the lnc files to take effect, but you will have to close FM12 if it is running. The edt and dbc files will only take effect when you start a new game."

The coloured dots on your tactics pitch show you how natural the player is at playing their selected position. A bright green dot denotes that a player naturally plays that position, whereas a red dot reveals that a player cannot play that position.
