Does your shortlist effect it?

Has anyone else noticed that putting a guy on your shortlist seems to have an effect on teams offering him to you? This seems particularly true if you are the manager of a team that has a higher reputation than the team of the player you are targeting. In 1.5 seasons as Liverpool, I've been offered (and signed) Edan Hazard, Marek Hamsik, Moussa Sissoko, and Edin Dzeko. All of them were offered to me for their "Estimated Value" which was less than $16 million US each.

Since I've notice this, I've put quite a few of the higher profiles guys (The Ronaldo's and Messi's of the world) on my shortlist, but none have been offered to me yet.
I've never tried it.It worths a try i think.Thanx for the tip mate. :D
Those are GREAT players in not so great teams...
It happened to me, only once though, with Cavani. Got him for €9.5 in the 2010/2011 winter market.
There is a bug where players end up being transfer listed for their value. It's more common with some people then others. Some have been offered messi and/or ronaldo for cheap. Apperently this is caused by a problem with player morale causing them to get unhappy quickly or something. If you shortlist a top player and they become unhappy, you have a good chance their club will offer the player to you for their value. There are several post on the SI Games Forum regarding this.
should be fixed in the next patch :) very odd bug this

It's funny you say that, because during my second summer transfer window, I just got offered Fabregas for his Estimated Value. Blew my whole transfer budget on him, but it was worth it. Not a bad middle of the pitch with Fabregas, Hamsik, and Sissoko.
FM2011 seems to have some special offers at times...
just look at this, no words needed :D

oh i sure hope they don't... :D
cause right now i'm having a lot of fun with this squad...
hazard/sanchez - pato/vucinic - neymar/sturridge - wilshere/balotelli

especially the first lineup is massive...so incredibly fast
So many excellent players get transfer listed! They get upset if there is "major interest" from high profile clubs or if an offer is turned down or even because of some harsh manager talks and they request transfer.
C.Ronaldo joined Chelsea(they spent 100M in total!!!) for 40M on January 2011 in my game! With a transfer budget of about 35M, you can sign likes of Sissoko, Suarez, Hazard, Fernandinho, Vertonghen,V.d.Wiel, Coentrao etc in the middle of the first season!
Well, it's attractive to buy those players just for their estimated value, but I don't think quite realistic. I also believe it will affect the overall financial status; for example Lille will receive 6M if Hazard is sold, instead of 20M!This happened in the past as well, but not to such extent.
Particularly clubs fron Ligue1 or Ajax,Shakhtar, all full of very promising players, seem to have little chance of keeping them..
It is not only unrealistic but in the long run spoils the game as opposition gets too weak.

depends on the league you play in.
arsenal, liverpool and tottenham really make me work for the (virtual) money i get...
arsenal bought akinfeev and demba ba amongst others.
while liverpool bought busquets, sissoko and giuseppe rossi amongst others...

I´m in serie A with Fiorentina, starting my 2nd season...and Inter is downgrading just sold Sneijder to Man U for €19.5, sold me Santon for €9... In fact, the only top team that bought something useful was AC Milan, that has some great future transfers in Amelia and Bignosehovic! Smaller teams like Napoles are imploding with Palermo being the only exception.
Coming to think of it, maybe it has something to do with the Managers. Serie A has few "famous" coaches.
serie a is a debt ridden hole of failure, what do you expect?
I hope they can fix this because in my Nieciecza save I had 0 for transfer budget three time in a row.
