Yup, not in Fm 2011 as I only played with small teams, but I had him twice at Man City and once Liverpool. He was available for around 115-125 millions EURO.
But greatest players in the world have to cost a lot.

The closest I've gotten to signing Messi is with City as well. In my FM10 save with City, I submitted an inquiry for the hell of it to see what Barca wanted for him. IIRC, Barca replied with 150m+.
In FM2011 I had only play in 1 save(currently in 2015/2016 season) and to be honest with ya I haven't got money cuz my biggest transfer budget was 1million pounds and I play in polish league so I think he woldn't be intrested.
FM2010 5 or 6 seasons in with Spurs, cost me 120m GBP, paid 40m over 48months some in clauses and 60m straight up. Got injured for a month after the 2nd game :-(
Man that's sucks when you paid a lot of money for a guy and then his injured for long period of time.
Never managed to buy him, but never really tried to buy him either.. I guess if you can easily afford him and don't need any other players, you could buy him. But I'd rather buy 4 players of 30 million rather than pay 120m for one. After a few seasons you can usually get some ~195 PA regens for even less.
Yeah. He was injury prone until FM2010, like he was in Real-Life. Was such a waste of money in FM2007, with A.C. Milan. Then I bought Ronaldo
