has anyone else noticed that as you get further and further into the game (i'm in 2020 now) that pretty much EVERY club in the active leagues have terrible finances? in my game chelsea, man utd, arsenal (although they did just spend a lot of money), liverpool are all in precarious positions? the only club outside of me (sunderland) that has a healthy bank balance was everton.

as such the global transfer market has crawled to an absolute halt. transfer window round-ups usually include a few signings at most. squads in the premier league are now filled with a series of 30+ squads with the only youth coming through their youth systems.

i just downloaded FMRTE and put £100million into all the premiership clubs bank balances in the hope that i can stimulate some kind of economic upturn and get some players moving. unfortunately i will have to wait until the end of season transfer window to see if this happens.

on the plus side however, the computer seems to have grown a set in the way it plays now. 4-2-4 is a regular formation against me!
I cant help you cause i have never got that far!

but it was great if we could do that in todays world economy, just inject money into our system and especially the sub-developed countries!

sorry for no help ;)

Perhaps this isn't a bug, it is just how the economy in the world turned out to be in this game. Maybe it is more "realism" than a bug.

I just turned the calendar to 2020 in my Newport save and I'm not noticing the same trend. The big boys across Europe are still spending money. Barca keeps making bids for one of my strikers and I just rejected an offer of 25m.

Here's all of the big money transfers that have happened in my Newport save as of the close of January 2020 window.

I think it is just how your game turn out because in one of my saves I am currently at beginning of 2019/2020 season and there are still teams who spend quite a lot.
yeah, this depends, pretty much if you start dominating the game and winning everything all the money will come to you so the others will get poorer. and it somehow depends if the clubs manage to sell or they loose the players on free transfers... so it's all about the start, if clubs have some talented managers they will grow..if not... not :)

i actually thought it might be something to do with the frequency you get bloody player agents asking for new contracts. there's only so many times you can tell them to go away before the player gets upset. one season i lost more than 30 million to pissing agent fees.

also seems to be a distinct lack of sponsorship money going around too, especially considering im the dominant force in the league now, yet man utd still manage to rake in 5x more sponsorship money than i do.

it confuses me.

Give them an inch...

I rule with an iron fist and my players know better by now. Any time an agent starts complaining about getting a better deal for his player (happens when I reject a transfer bid for the player), I reject the agent's demand. Then when the player complains because I don't want to rework his contract I remind him that he is currently under contract and 9/10 that's the end of the discussion. Every once in a while the player will continue to complain, at which point I tell him about how unprofessional his is acting. The player then apologizes and we wait until next month when the same process will happen with someone else. :))

Oh-la-la. Palmeiras spent $36 millions on a signing? WOW! That's definitely new to the world. On the real world, they would have to "save" all their sponsorship income for 4-5 years without spending nothing in wage or signings. :)

No bug here just randomness and of course interactions which come from the way you manage your own team which affects the world!
I am close to your date i am managing Athletic Bilbao and I have conquered all the trophies for a european club and I am in the first 15 richest clubs in the planet my rep points are 2k more than the first season which means I am the 4th biggest club in the universe alond side with Barca R. Madrid ManU and Lyon!
Still I can't say that big clubs are overcharged but I see the effect of my rising team spreading all around the football world!
