Today's Games:
Barcelona - Arsenal
Shakhtar - AS Roma
Shakhtar owning ROMA atm :)
# tomy : Shakhtar owning ROMA atm :)
I would prefer Shakhtar to go through to next round rather than Roma.
Barcelona 3-1 Arsenal

Shakhtar 3-0 Roma
i think that it was a great loss for world football if barcelona didn't pass this round, im glad they did!

nothing against arsenal, but i truly believe that barcelona is a team that no matter the adversary, no matter the conditions, no matter the attendance, they are always gonna put a show!! They play the most beautiful football I've ever seen!

And both influenced by extremely dubious refereeing decisions. (Yellow card for Srna for being hit in the face?? When did they start giving yellow cards for that?! Second yellow for Van Persie for not hearing 1 of the 98001 whistles in the stadium?? Football is not a hearing test!)
To Sepp Blatter: 2011 is the year in which you should step up and use the cameras pointing at the field. I do not believe that the football-watching community will accept it much longer.

At the moment, the ENTIRE football-watching world knows what happened on the field apart from the SINGLE person that makes the decision about it.

Just give five referees a TV with the ability to see the replays, each man armed with a big red button. And as soon as 3 of them or more press it at the same time, stop the play and tell the on-field referee what he missed. (There is probably a better method :p)

Doing this, players will know that every foul the make will be spotted, which will cause them to be careful with making fouls and thereby cause less injuries. Additionally, (and probably most importantly) everyone who watches the game will know that the right decision has been made.
the way barca is behaving on the pitch is a disgrace.
it sickens me to see a team with such talent behave like that.
wilshere injured, all of a sudden four barca-players jump him, try to pull him up in order to play on...
then dani alves. gets pushed by van persie, contact on the shoulder. this dimwit falls down and holds his face...
i just hope they face the same fate as last year...
i hate those evil dwarfs ! as well as all the refs love towards them !

You're preaching to the quire buddy. Ireland really could have done with some help from technology against France a year or so ago (still getting over it!!)

im with you, that must have hurt!!

but France got what they deserved during the world cup ... not that will change anything related to Ireland but ... it's karma!
15/3/2011 Games

Man Utd : Marseille

Bayern M. : Inter
15/3/11 Results
Bayern Munich 2 - 3 Inter Milan
Manchester U. 2 - 1 Marseille

16/3/11 Games
Chelsea ? - ? FC Copenhagen
Real Madrid ? - ? Lyon
I can't see past Chelsea or Real Madrid for these games really. . .
I think Chelsea will walk away with an easy result here, you have to feel for Copenhagen, not having any real competetive football for so long (aside from their Champions League games), it puts them in a difficult position.

As for Real - Lyon, again got to go with the favourites, Real are showing a real menace this year, they're looking a lot stronger in Europe than they have done in a while.
16/3/2011 Results
Chelsea 0 - 0 FC Copenhagen
Real Madrid 3 - 0 Lyon

Tottenham Hotspur
Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen
