Intro

Hey guys and welcome to my newest and hopefully most successful story here on FM Scout.
I'm not new to story writing here on the site, had one or two previously but I let them all drift away as people stopped reading and following my work. I've made a new account to give myself a fresh start with these stories and I hope that with the new start will come some new success...and maybe even a SOTM nomination?! Who knows...

I will be running this story from a new game I've started on the FM14 Beta in FM Classic mode. I have several major European leagues loaded and I'll add or remove leagues as the story progresses.

I prefer FM Classic to the normal FM mode just because I like to be able to make faster progress with my game saves and don't like feeling like I need a degree in Economics to run a successful career!

I'll try to be as in-depth as possible and I am very open to any requests, so if there are any players you want a run down on (if the game has progressed a certain number of season for example) or an idea for a feature you'd like to see me run, just let me know and I'll try and accomodate you!

Also, feedback is very much welcomed!

Who am I?

If the title didn't give it away already, I will be playing as the man that is The Fash.

John Fashanu: Legend

John Fashanu, often referred to as 'The Fash' is an English television presenter and former professional footballer of Nigerian and Guyanese descent.

In his footballing career, he was a centre-forward from 1978 until 1995, most notably in an eight-year spell at Wimbledon F.C. in which he won the FA Cup in 1988 and scored well over 100 goals in all competitions.
He also played for Norwich City, Miramar Rangers, Lincoln City, Crystal Palace, Millwall and Aston Villa. He scored 134 league goals in a career lasting 17 years. He was also capped twice at senior level by England, but failed to score on either occasion.

Following his football career he went on to co-host British television show Gladiators in the mid-1990s, and between 2003 and 2004 he managed his own Sunday league football side Fash FC on Bravo.

Management History

Aside from the aforementioned Fash FC, a Sunday League side formed for a TV show, Fash has no prior management experience, but has been heavily involved in several youth and academic projects. Fash's management career is a blank canvas waiting to be painted upon, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Fash is Back!

Jun 29th 2013 - 14:41

John Fashanu, known simply as ‘The Fash’ to his fans, has finally returned to UK shores to put an end to a raft of recent controversies linking him to both allegations of Tax Evasion and possible match-fixing.

The former England and Wimbledon striker is perhaps more widely known for his work as a TV Presenter on 90’s games show ‘Gladiators’ than he is for his football, despite being a part of the widely popular Wimbledon FC side known fondly as ‘The Crazy Gang’ and racking up 207 appearances with 107 goals to his name between 1986 and 1994.

After quitting football, Fash displayed an innate knack for business, earning himself a small fortune and becoming a prominent and leading businessman in his native country Nigeria, where he has recently assisted in setting up a £50 million footballing academy.

With his vast fortune comes allegations of Tax Evasion by the British Government. Fash was recently named in a list of 1000 high profile celebrities and business men and women suspected of large scale Tax Evasion in the UK. Choosing, up until recently, to reside in Nigeria only served to heighten that suspicion and attract criticism from friend and foe alike.

Fash returns to the UK in an effort to clear his name and maintains that he is a ‘law abiding citizen’.

Fash had previously declared an interest in investing in AFC Wimbledon as part of a conglomerate involving former Crazy Gang associates Dennis Wise and Vinnie Jones. Those plans, much to the dismay of Dons fans everywhere, failed to come to fruition.

Fash’s return to the UK is bound to rekindle the interest of Dons fans who will remain hopeful that some kind of deal can be revived and one of the club’s most revered players can return to the club in some way, shape or form.

Manager Merry-Go-Round

June 30th 2013 - 07:17

With only days to go until the new Football League kicks off, there has been a rapid increase in the amount of bets being place on a number of managers being axed before so much as a ball is even kicked in a pre-season warm up.

With not a single twitchy Arab tycoon, or interfering Russian oligarch in sight, the lower leagues look set to become something of a managerial merry-go-round as floundering Football League sides look to cement their club's financial and footballing future by bring a new injection of life to the club in the form of a new manager.

Darren Ferguson - Peterborough

He may be a Ferguson, but poor old Darren has not enjoyed the kind of ridiculous success that usually goes hand in hand with the Ferguson name in recent times.
A long-standing front man at The Post, aside from a brief foray over to Preston North End in 2010, Darren Ferguson has been trying to build the kind of self-providing success that his father built at United for the past decade or so.

Recently relegated on a heart-breaking last day result, The Posh now find themselves languishing in League One. Ferguson has been a steady leader for a while now, but with impending financial difficulties and no obvious change in direction, the boardroom and the fans may now favour a switch to a new manager who will hopefully bring a new approach to the team and propel the club back up the league structure.

Neal Ardley - AFC Wimbledon

Ardley has most likely been feeling nervous for a season or two now with his AFC Wimbledon side not being able to amount to much than relegation survivors ever since their promotion in to League Two.
The Dons faithful have been desperately hoping for a return to the heady heights of The Crazy Gang and promotion to League Two provided a fleeting hope that perhaps their time to rise up the ranks had come. But with two difficult seasons endured, the fans and perhaps the boardroom will now be re-evaluating their choice of leading man.

The recent emergence of John Fashanu as a potential managerial candidate will also have added fuel to the fire. The Fash represents a real link to the glory days that the fans have been yearning for and the board will perhaps be looking for him to bring his financial acumen to the club as much as his footballing knowledge.

Chris Kiwomya - Notts County

Notts County struggled to a disappointing mid-table finish in League One last season in a campaign that saw Keith Curle fired in February and Kiwomya appointed to try and salvage something from the ruins Curle had left behind. Credit where credit is due, Kiwomya helped the club improve it's fortunes, but finishing 12th in League One is a far cry from the kind of claims being made a few years back when Sven Goran Eriksson was manager and the club listed Sol Campbell amongst their playing staff.

Kiwomya has recently spoken publicly about his relationship with the boardroom being icy, stating that he didn't think his vision of Notts County matched up with the plans the boardroom were making for the club. Kiwomya's recent public outburst may just prove to be the impetus needed for the board room to start looking for a new manager. And with a number of managers nervously checking their emails and phones to make sure they still have jobs, there could well be a whole raft of newly unemployed managers sending their CVs in to apply for any vacancies that may arise at Meadow Lane.
wow! this story looks like it could go far, im serious! this is a fantastic start keep it up!
Brilliant start, good luck :)
A little revamp of the opening posts, mainly because I didn't like what I had done with them!

I'm much happier with this setup, look for more updates to follow later this evening or first thing tomorrow morning!

Kiwomya Axed and Arrested!

2nd July 2013 - 11:17

Chris Kiwomya was removed as manager of Notts County earlier this morning, after a dramatic boardroom brawl with members of the Notts County FC board during a pre-season meeting at the Meadow Lane stadium.

An anonymous source, who works at the club, had this to say: "It started off as a heated discussion between the boss and some of the committee members. Chris didn't agree with some of the policies the board were trying to force through and before I knew it, he was throwing punches!"

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that they were called to the ground following an incident. A statement issued by a senior officer at the scene stated: "I can confirm that at 08:12 this morning, Nottinghamshire Police were requested to intervene in an isolated incident of violence inside the Meadow Lane staidum. A 43 year old male was arrested at the scene and is currently remaining at a local police station to assist us with our enquiries."

There has been no official word from the club as of yet, but we understand that Kiwomya's contract is due to be terminated immediately and the hunt for a new manager will be undertaken.

Representatives for Chris Kiwomya were unavailable for comment.
A great start, looking good so far.
Great start good luck :D
