Hi guys, I am new round here in terms of the forums and would like to offer something that I feel is slightly different in terms of story telling (at least I think it is).

The title is sort of indicative of what I am looking to write in, I guess it's best described as a mixture of diary inserts & presentations looking back at results after they happen and break the games down one by one and analyse them tactically, but not too much that it becomes stories within themselves. It won't just focus on the tactics but the overall running of the club, but that will be the primary focus, alongside those I will chuck in the odd journalist report, news items to spice it up and keep it varied.

I will be taking on the challenge of Restoring Roma to Serie A Champions, then Regular Serie A Champions and beyond that, European Champions. Now they are doing very well in real life :) but I personally think the competition in Serie A is amongst the closest in terms of the amount of teams that can challenge for that title.

Any feedback will be much appreciated
Interesting description, this may be interesting to follow too :)
Will be good to see a story with in-depth tactical analysis
Good luck on Restoring Roma :)

Introduction

AS Roma - Season Preview 2013/14

Board Expectations:

Serie A:
Achieve UEFA Europa League qualification.
Coppa Italia:
Not regarded as important.

My Expectations:

Serie A:
Achieve UEFA Champions League qualification, I've said this to the board and think we should be aiming here at the very least.
Coppa Italia:
I feel with Juventus and ourselves tied at 9 Coppa Italia titles a piece, pulling ahead to 10 and being the record holders would be a nice gesture to the fans.

The Squad:

Having overseen my first few training sessions and flicking through the notes and videos left by my assistant, I already have a fairly rough idea who features in my plans and who doesn't, which I will go into further detail soon, for now here are the things I have highlighted.

  • Getting the most out of Francesco Totti will be vital, also the fans deserve to see their talisman go out with a bang this season.
  • Strootman offers that passing and creativity from deep which is essential to the way I want my side to play.
  • Goalkeepers, while experienced, are certainly one of the weakest areas in this side and that will most certainly need to be strengthened.
  • As good a servant as Taddei may have been in the past, I can't see him featuring in my plans and its best if I let him know asap so he can find a new club.

Boardroom

Transfer Budget:
£8.25M
Wage Budget:
£1.5M p/w
Projected Balance:
£10.23M

That's it for today, will have to fully assess the squad and staff tomorrow...
